goot afternoon buddies.... just back from csc clean cmos ...$21.40 fly away :x ...!@##! tupid dust ...... i use air pump also cannot blow away !!

now sensor ish sparkling clean

hmm maybe should bring mine for spring cleaning too

Hmm... my one got sensor cleaning... 1sec finish cleaning at home... got 4 dust spots a week be4... on the spot clean sensor... :devil:

I got dust on focusing screen, how to clean ah? BTW picture below is it focusing screen? Dust stuck there and tried to blow also can not. Then i used alcohol to clean.......****....there are marks when i see at the focusing screen. Then i re-apply the alcohol through our again to clean the mark.....when it dry, then it was alright.:sweat: But the dust still there.....

yup thats the focus screen, you can remove it . but i nv try remove before. view finder dust nvm lah but think today csc also got clean(they say blow oni) for me

my viewfinder got a bit of dust too

Always look for the expert to do it....dun anyhow do if not sure. :nono:

I have removed my 400D and my current 1D focusing screen before.. The more I clean them, the more dust there are...:sweat:

You actually need a very clearn environment + proper blower or vaccum cleaner to suck away the dust... if you just use a lens cloth to clean, the more you rub, the dirtier it gets.

If I am not wrong, CSC will help change your focusing screens for FREE !!! please call them to verify that. I ever brought a split-focusing screen from them at $60, and then I pass the screen and camera to the technician , they get it changed and then clean ( basic cleaning )on the spot for me. I get back my cam few minutes later only.

If you like to change the focusing screen, process to change is very simple, just a simple tweezer will do the job, difficult part is keep the screen free from dust and free from your own finger prints.

But, if you are like me, I don't mind focusing screen with little bit of dust... then I just change them myself lah...( these dust will not affect the picture quality because they are not in the direction of the image ).
