Feel is there. But i find the crop kinda strange. Maybe give a bit more space to the model's right? Would prefer a bit of hair details too. Dun need too much but juz a bit.
Your portraiture has improved quite abit since the last time. Like KT said, the feel is there. The lighting is good also - except for the hair. I guess this was shot in a studio maybe they didnt have honeycomb light. The hair disappears into the BG

otherwise i love the lighting.
Skin tone here is abit too glassy. Gaussian blur maybe applied too strong.
Bro you got the original file to send? I will attempt a sample DI for you if you wish =)
those magazine editorial do try to retain some sort of skin texture, not exactly smooth. they should be adding noise to those area from where i read somewhere before. the pose is someone not masculine enough imo but its really a good try!
Thanks for the kind words bro!
KT: hmmm, yeah cropping could probably have been better. I didn't add in a hair light simply because a) his current hairstyle isn't flattering for him(of cos there are shots that included his hair. LOL) b) He was lying on a sofa with a smooth finish, which would reflect quite a bit of light, that would steal attention from him.. There might be a better way to light, but I couldn't work it out in the short time I had to work with him, so in the end I skipped that..
g-khoo: I still have the RAW, which is about 25MB (yeah, I'm using a Fuji S3 Pro, so RAW = interpolated 12MP uncompressed. LOL). Hmm, I think I saved some of my adjustments on the RAW, but should be able to retrieve the original settings.. Maybe I try to retrieve then send you a JPEG instead?
I shot this in my office's studio. Not the best equipped since we're more into moving images now, so I made do with what I had. There are honeycombs available to attach to the strobes, but IIRC I lit this shot with just 1 medium softbox.
Agreed that the blur might have been too strong, but his complexion was really quite bad, and we didn't hire a MUA for this shoot, which we should have.
Hair wise, please read my reply to kt. Thanks for the effort and time in advance bro!
sprintist: Hmm, I don't really get the adding noise in part bro. Care to elaborate on any links to share? Hmm, posing was quite a problem as he was totally new to it, and was quite stiff. I actually did 2 small test shoots with him prior to this shoot. There was already some improvement, but not enough. I did make some mistakes as well, such as some shots wasted due to lighting or angle.
Once again, thanks for the kind words and effort to C&C my shot! Will try harder next time!

Sometimes, lighting for a still shoot feels harder than lighting for a film/video shoot. :bsmilie:
