Erm, I have the luxury of using a studio, a black cloth for backdrop, and a Bowens 1000w strobe.

But you can do it at home as well. Just have a dark area (close all windows and doors, make it as dark as possible), a black surface like a cloth or even a jacket (somebody did use that) as backdrop, and 1 to a few table lamp(s) (depending on how strong your lamp(s) are). Then get incense (joss sticks or similar).

There are no fixed exposures to use, but with my tools and settings, I used ISO 200, f8, and approx 1/60s for the shots I've done so far. Your settings might differ.

I'm still new to smoke photography as well, still experimenting.

You can google around for "Smoke Photography" for more tutorials, etc. A lot of useful sites will pop up!

Why restrict the type of outings for Tang Shooters? Personally I join tang shooters to find people with common interest to do what we like together. Such restrictions will only deter more people from joining IMO.

I am against restriction of this kind if you ask me. We are supposed to be unbiased of equipment, race, likes, anything.

no..no restriction..but we have to spread out the type of shoot..
if u notice, we've been doing model shoot quite often nowadays..and the participants are the few usual ones..:bsmilie:..we need to cater to some other members..for instance macro, landscape or even IR..and some say camelling..:bsmilie:

of course we dun stop anyone who wish to continue shooting models..:sweatsm:

Agreed.
More shoots should be organized la, actually if you noticed couple of us started joining organized shoots by others. So the main issue is not we too many model shoot, but rather lesser tang shooter outings. :think:

Hmm... trip to malaysia for day trek ok, need not backpack... 2-3 days trekking also good for health... i am ok with it...

Oh btw, looking at recce of marina keppel maybe next weekend. Anybody on? We missed the last one, must try out tis time...
