Still dunno if I should get 17-40 or 16-35 :( thk most prob 17-40 la.. budget! :D

ha ha.. Naka.. I was stucked with this question not long ago also..

17-40mm is a sharp lens, sometimes sharper than 16-35 MK1. However, the distortion is a little bit on the high side, hence if you are shooting architecture shots for a living, then you cannot accept this... if you only shoot sunrise or sunset, then it is not much a problem.

16-35mm MK2 is very sharp and distortion is also much improved from MK1. But, the price is sky high...

I ended getting neither..:bsmilie: I brought the Sigma 12-24mm instead.

Hmm, billy the sigma can be used on FF?
I will be using the lens for wedding and landscapes... so I might get 17-40... dun really need the 2.8 but concern about the distortions..

Yes, Sigma 12-24mm is FF.
Nikon and Tokina 12-24mm is not FF.

err... if you use 17-40mm on a full frame body, yes.. you should be able to create some mood and special effect which will definately make the album more interesting. However, if you use it onto a x1.6factor body, then the effect is no so significant liao.

If you intend to use 17-40mm on wedding , POSSIBLE... but it is a little dark ( need to push up the ISO and must have steady hands) , comparing to using 16-35mm. Considering when you are in a church or wedding dinner especially. F2.8 definately helps alot. 17-40mm is more suitable for outdoor landscapes where aperture is closed all the way down to get sharpness.

Think possible to sell for at least 1.5k...I can help you sell if you wan.

Hmm, never mind bah. Don't have excess moolah now, then got tons of stuff to backup, including some works-in-progress... Very leh cheh to backup now also...

I go slp liao, who tomolo going shoot winnie, call me to meet up ok! Nite all! :D

Fren, 100% of my wedding shots taken using 17-40mm with MK3....It still works even in low light condition. All you need to do is to control the lighting output on the flash and manual setting on the camera. :)

Cool man...PW still the best.

Try get from OP la. Their china brand not bad actually.

Thanks for the recommendation. :)
PW combined with suitable cable can now trigger my flashguns.
Er, I thinking of getting Germany and USA...intended to use for few years....like my reflector. Most probably getting from Ruby, as I forsee I will get bowens from them as well. :bsmilie:
