Tang Shooters VII: TCSS Thread...

I am not using 1.4X TC, I am using 1D ( x1.3 factor ). Hence able to reach about 520mm maximum. We can try mounting your 1.4X TC onto it, check how much the IQ degrades . That should be interesting...

I was at a camera shop yesterday evening. The shop keeper actually discourage me from getting this lens ( 100-400mm ). He claims that 70-200mm F2.8 + 1.4x TC will let you have a better coverage , cost savings, weight advantage and similiar performace.

Well, lets see how this guy perform this Saturday first.

Tell you the fact, with the combination, 400mm at f5.6 + 1.4X = 520mm at f6.3 and extremely slow AF....Lets pray we have a bright day that day, or else we will be pushing our ISOs. :sweat:

Kind of agreed with the shopkeeper words.

Just realise the newbie group hosted by user "generalsales" is going to SBWR on tis coming saturday too..they are even chartering a 45 seater bus and some others driving there..it will be really crowded..lol:bsmilie:

I recently try to ISO 1200 to capture some events at night ,http://forum.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=327479, before the shoot, I have the impression that the image quality will be poor . But I am only concern on weather will I be able to catch the action or not.

After the event, when I look at the shots, I feel that the grain actually creates a certain kind of MOOD that is very interesting. It kind of feels very real and nice feeling. The feeling when looking at the shots is unlike seeing those very well polished and fine shots. I actually like the feel very much now.

Now, I will not hesitate to push the ISO to 1600 if needed to.

Wah brother... 1600 ISO dun really allow u to PS on afterwhich.. not without considerable headaches...

But at times its fun to squeeze the best from what u have... well consider mine 400mm... F6.0 and manual... darn, i will cry if the bird is in good shade.. wahaaaa....
