Design and stuff is done. Just need to get it done in a Vector file according to what the printers need.

If you are working with Photoshop ( CS2 ), seems like you can change the format to CMYK format easily. To do so, use Image/ Mode/ CMYK Color.

caution:
when you change mode, the program might request that you flatten the layers and that might cause you some color change to your image. You might need to adjust the colors again.

After doing the change in MODE, you can then save in PSD format or TIFF format and give it to you vendor ( depending which format he can open ).

Just to check ... I have my current files in PSD and jpegs. From that, I just convert to CYMK, adjust color if necessary, then save as a PDF file, and that's a super sharp VECTOR file already?

I thought the file started out as a rasterized file ... does it?

Then converting to PDF from my PSD in CS4 liddat oredi can give me super sharp files for offset printing?


Blazer, if I already have jpegs (the vector magic has a 10mg limit, so that's a problem if I were to send PSD files), I just send them and they convert and send me back the vector images? And those converted files are good enough for very high quality offset printing?

hmm dun really understand wat you want but anyway vector images are sharp itself.. as it just using points/dots to connect between them to form the image.

If you change jpeg to vector, the concern is the color, vector images cannot display the lush of color depths. It can use for high quality printing, if needed to resize image they dont loss much details or never unlike if it is in raster form u hv to draw the image in higher resolution and dpi.

Wah ur filesize so big?? I though oni a name card..haha..
vector magic is a cheap alternative to convert image into vector graphics..
yes..its simple, just upload image and download vector graphic..

part0 is correct abt the color thinggy abt vector graphics..depends on how u color ur image..there might be some color loss..

Kang has given a good suggestion, maybe you should look for vendors that accept normal image files..i believe they can be printed very sharp as well..

I usually just save my vectors as PDF then bring to the print shop. Sharp prints even at A1 size.
