OOU!

Dees ish jus wan of Ah Hee's companies. He ish gotch mani empires.

heh last thurs came out le :)

i heard its very de sharp, worth the money

The earlier P and other variants are OK lah, but not what I would regard as stunning or great. I used to hunt down really old metal focusing collar (both black and silver) 85s and 105s in the past and performance on film was a let down (as compared to the later AI-S versions). My benchmark was a 105 f/4 micro nikkor.

The main problem with the older pieces are lower contrast due to the less advanced coatings, and that may lead to a perceived lower accutance. Flare may be an issue with the older nikkors, again, due to the coating. In short: Go for the late version AI-S models.

I fooled around with a friend's defocus control nikkor before. It's a very precise lens to use, and requires a 'deliberate' and careful approach. Be careful as according to some reports, there are sample variations, and the DC ring may not function properly on some pieces (said to be Grey market ones).

Howpe dis helps a beet!

Thanks bbbuttie por de feedbagz..... moi thinkz moi gettinkz her Vivitar 135 tomolo hand meibee the 105mm f/2 DC......

Are you getting the old MF vewrsion, or the AF version?

The one I played with is the MF version and the built is rock solid. I am not familiar with the af huan.

The old Vivitar primes circa late 70s- early 80s were a bit lackluster, but decent performers. I'm not sure if you would like it considering the pedigree you've already been exposed to. Have a look at the Zuiko 135mms. Even the lowest end f/3.5 version, wide open, and across all apertures, outresolves the EF 100mm 2.8 USM macro slightly closed down, and across all apertures.

The OM 135s can usually be gotten for dirt cheap. ;) However, the f/3.5 version is a bit low in contrast, and generally the fatest in the group may not be the sharpest, so I would suspect the f/2.8 version would be the best balance.
