What is SO wrong with these pictures?

The model is wearing a dress with a strapless top. There is such a thing call strapless bra.

Why is the model wearing a bra with those uber ugly clear plastic straps? No matter how
the rest of the picture looked, it is irrevocably spoiled by those unsightly plastic straps.

This is an organized shoot, this is not a snapping shooting outing with your friend. Styling is part of a shoot, and how can we photographers allow such careless, blatant disregard of details, and total violation of styling/fashion good taste, and not looking like GWC?

I think you got to define GWC .... Probably not many people will understand that term ... :bsmilie:

Regardless of weather it is a snapping shooting outing or an organised shoot .... inevitably it ends uplike a mass shoot without control ... I don't know how many TS shot to get these with some "eye-contact" ... but it must be quite a fair number ....

I think that is pretty easy when the organiser is your friend and you are supporting their shoots every weekend ... Also when the model is your "friend" ... GWC start to overlook these things ... there is a pretty face smiling in fron of you ... just shoot away .... Photo-chop can do the rest of the wonders .....

Hi DP. Those straps are not photographically pleasing, that I agree. We did notice that prior to the start of the shoot and asked Danielle if they are removable, unfortunately nope. Thus, we respected that and proceed on with the shoot.

I would not categorize that as blatant disregard for details as we did notice that portion, but we might be careless for not removing that strap in post-process. Thanks for pointing that out, DP. As for violation of styling and fashion good taste, I believe there is not rules or standards for fashion and styling, thus I will leave that to personal preference and taste.

Photographer or GWC, that I would also have to let 3rd parties to decide la. Still a learning process for everyone I guess.

Hi Long Thai Bean. This is actually an organized shoot by Baby Fairy where 6 of us requested to be grouped together. IMO, not all the shots have to have the model's eye contact to have impact. In fact, the opposite is true for some shots. Perhaps you should join us for a shoot next time, to see if its really a mass shoot without control and planning.

Regardless of our relationship with the model / organizer, shooting is shooting la. Bunch of us are just photography enthusiasts having a full-time job elsewhere. Its about the passion and joy of shooting. Not all good shoots have to be in the studio with strobes and stuff i think.

Oh by the way, the way I see things, everyone with a camera is a subset of photographer la. Thus everyone is a GWC! Soli la, im a IT person, can only explain like this. ;p And we do know wads GWC la, no need to explain.

Agreed on the importance of minor details that will affect the aesthetic properties of a good photo, DP. Will take note of that and discuss with the models / organiser next time prior to the shoot. Appreciate the pointer.
