Hey guys, need some suggestion from you all. As I want to look for a new lens for street photography, and I've chosen some lens. I wonder should get tokina 100m f2.8 or tokina 50-135mm f2.8, or nikon 55-200mm lens? My budget only allow me to buy either of these lens as I'm still a poor student . So need some suggestion from you all. And I wonder are those lens big in size? As I scare it may attract alot attention.

my opinions:
1. tokina 100mm: might not be flexible as it is prime. not sure about image quality.
2. tokina 50-135mm f2.8: dunno anything about this lens.
3. nikon 55-200: KRW has good review. supposed to be small and light but has slow AF.

actually, my question is: why do you want to buy these tele lens for street photography? u wan to snipe from far away? actually if u want to shoot street better practise shoot from the belly or hip and get close. sometimes people are self conscious if they see someone with tele lens standing far away. just my 2 cts worth.

get a cheap 50mm or 35mm prime can liao...

all butties here only hao lian their photos...

the photos presented do not tell me how close or how far are you shooting from leh... so how can noob (me inclusive) know what lens to choose from. any of these photos can also be taken from tele lenses mah, provided no one cross your line of sight.

anyway... im just giving my noobist's 1 cent comment cheers

Okay thanks for the advise. Shall head off to do some streets tomorrow by sticking to 50mm to try off ba. Anyone interested to join? Haha :bsmilie:
