QC for 3rd party lens maker seem to have not improved, but I am quite fortunate to get a good copy as mine is a grey set and servicing it may have a bit of problem.

Two photos taken with the lens

Ha ha ha! Don't come back to Canon camp. You brought along a very poisonous setup yesterday. I almost succumb to the strong poison. Lucky I got the "no money" antidote. :bsmilie:

You still not too late to switch over. Haha. I also cannot overcome the poison so i make the jump to Dark side 3 months ago. Now i am a happy man.

Just a question, is anyone using 5d mark iii with the tamron 24-70? The outer side of the focus points don't seems to get the focus right, it's either front or back focus. But using the center AF to focus its spot on, anyone would like to share the experience here?

looks like you got a pretty good copy from the images up there. The extreme AF points usually are less accurate, and the lens itself is softer on the edges, hence may also affect the AF accuracy

Yes it's a very good copy which is super sharp, but the out AF is abit saddening because I've been using canon lens and didnt encounter this before. So the only way to focus sharp is to focus and recompose?

hmmmm you newly acquired the lens yesterday and selling it off now because of edge AF point performance?

The 5d mark iii got such good AF system, if cant fully utilize I really feel that it's a waste. Because I usually like to take fast moving subjects like my daughter running around etc.

nice colors of the evening sky! horizon can do with a little correction (less tilting) though

Thanks. The horizon is tilted like that, I did not shoot this slanted. You can see this from the trees.

If you really want the most optimal results from the Tamron lens, send it back to Japan for calibration.
I did that with the 28-75 f2.8 (if had fungus), when it came back, i sold my 24-70L.....

Are you saying that you sold your 24-70L cos after te recalibration of the Tamron it was perfect? Cool.

If so, can you share te procedure of sending the. Lens back?

What is the turnaround time?

Thanks!

hmm.. am i the only who felt that the sharpness is not there? Is it due to the EOS M? - i have the same lens on a SLR and it is way sharper.

I really don't know coz i don't have any other body except my EOS M but i find it very sharp (for me)....;)
