I do wonder if it's worth paying 3x the price for faster AF. Is IQ much better? I would appreciate real usage feedback.
Thanks in advanced!
its much better than the cheaper Tamron version 70-300 Macro 1:2 hands down

There are some user reviews here http://www.dyxum.com/reviews/lenses/reviews.asp?IDLens=595

Noticed this thread has died down a little.
I am still using this lens for some of my travels and it is wonderful for the price point!
But I really wonder why this lens has dropped drastically in price... especially in terms of resale value...
I was contemplating upgrading to a Sigma 50-150 2.8 OS for closer shots (and perhaps pairing with a 1.4x or 2x teleconvertor) but now I don't even feel like upgrading since firstly this lens satisfies everything I need as an advanced amateur and financially it doesn't make sense haha!
