Interesting lens...

Got this from my friend to sell (well, after I play with it first!!). I just got it last Friday and just have a play with it briefly... I am pleasantly surprise for its quality.. very sharp even at wide open!!

Both taken handheld. I think it is quite light considering amount of glass on it.

Will take more shots when I have more time.

Is it just me, or is there blue fringing in the second pic?

Not so on my monitor leh.
I think our bro GENO also has one of this lens in his cabinet. Good lens for sharpness.

I think crop version will be good enough to see the sharpness....

more shots taken today... Images are cropped around 30%.

Not bad for handhold.

Yes, some CA, but not too bad for such a extreme condition by shooting into the sun.

a bit??? not much nature left nearby...unless u wanna shoot sparrows, crows,mynahs...;p ..

very true. i guess ubin will be nearest we can get for now.

except for the occasional eagle, you can get the lot at sg tampines, very near pasir ris mrt. but with a lot less mozzies.

yup, but the egrets tend to flock to the canal just downstairs from my living room to feed at low tide or when the TC folks close the sluice gates. i can almost shoot from the comfort of my home. ;) unless i want to nail the kingfishers and others along the canal. saw an eagle fly by yesterday, but it didn't circle so just enjoyed watching it.

Hart, sorry for the OTs.. btw how does the Tamrom 300 2.8's AF compare to the KM non-SSM equivalent?

That's ok... no problem at all...

Pretty similar, not as sharp, but then you will really have to press hard to see the different... one is around A$5000  second hand one is A$2000  ? which one will you choose?

I will go to the cheaper Tamron 300mm f2.8 yet not losing much on the sharpness.

Anyway, got the lens to play play and will be selling it soon... any Alpha mount bro wants this lens? Me can sell cheap cheap...
