Tamron Service Center

That's the estimated price for the repair. Will update the actual cost when I collect back my lens.

Just received email, my lens is repaired, cost $130. Will collect it either today or tomorrow (if they open on Sat).

got my Tammy back. the entire zoom ring is replaced. Now it's as new....;p

Any idea if the Tamron Service Centre is open on Saturdays?

any idea if i have a japan set with japan local warranty, i can get it repaired under warranty?

Brought my lense in for calibration about 2 weeks back, calibration takes roughly 3 days if they're not dealing with too many other lenses. Customer service was great, forgot to bring my camera to test the lense when i collected it, one of the staff brought out his own camera to let me test the lense.

Hi, I thought read somewhere that they will only send your lens to Japan for calibration?
Which may take around 1 months time.
Thats why I hesitated to send my lens in.

Did your lens have back/front focusing issues in the past?

anyone sent for dust cleaning or general checkup?

would they require the original receipt or scanned copy will do?

i do have the 3 yr warranty card but its not stamped..was bought from J3:16 originally

pls advise thanks

it's better you bring the original receipt. as for the warranty card.. they don't really check if it has the stamp from the shop as long as u have the original receipt.
i got my 17-50 VC from J316 too and mine didnt have the stamp, should be no problem :)

so they have their own technicians to service the lens in singapore? im thinking of tamron 17-50 too, but being third party, i'm hesitant to use it on my new 60D. dunno how it will turn out. anyone wanna share their experience?

How much normally they charge for internal cleaning for fungus/dust?

I just bought a 2nd hand tamron AF18-200 for my Pentax Kx, there seems to be dust inside the lens :(
Are they able to do cleaning for the lens?

it's ok to have some dust. There's no absolute assurance that the cleaning process will render the lens entirely dust free.
Then even if you had it clean, and considering that you use it often, dust will find it's way back in. :)

calibration is free? if still under international warranty?

i had my 17-50 calibrate and it's free. According to the technician, he just reset the rom software on the lens.

is the service centre also selling the hood? for Tamaron 17-50mm? any ideas how much?
