I just got mine from Hong Kong. Bought it from the Wing Shing in Mongkok. Stock just came in too and I got the first few copies which were sharp and great. Paid HKD 4300 for it.
Image quality is just as good as the non VC version which I also have.
The only thing I could not get used to initially is that the VC "jumps" when it first starts but that's not a problem. Just not similar to Canon or Nikons. Not an issue after using for a while cos you get great photos!
Initially was gonna get the Canon EFS 17-55 2.8 instead but found this was out, tried it and no regrets!
Get one if you can!![]()
Wah dude, at this price (approx S$820) you make a lot of CS bros here green with EnvyGood buy:thumbsup: Have you check if local agent will take warranty for your lens?
I guess at the $950 price here & the cheap budget air ticket it may still b worth it to fly there to buy at HK4300 & have a free holiday:sweatsm:
i was heard some rumors about tamron
1.JEL send problems lens back to tamron's distributor in malaysia, cos they are agent in sale
lens, not repair and service lens.
2.tamron's 3 year warranty:
1st year - free service and free part replace
2nd yr - free labor service and you have to pay for the part which is spoiled n functionless.
3rd yr - they will tell you it;s time to change a new lens, your lens might not be working
properly, it;s not worth for you to repair the lens
above mention is a rumors of tamron, not really happend on them![]()
HK$4300 is about S$785. You make out whether it makes sense to buy at about S$950 in Singapore for 3 years warranty. Is it better to go to JB and buy at RM$1950 with one year warranty? Got international warranty with receipt.
The local distributor is differentiating himself in the wrong way. How many would pay so much more for another 2 years warranty.
