anyone using this lens care to share user experiences on it?

:heart::heart:

owned the 17-50, it's simply marvelous; a pity i had to let it go since i changed bodies.. still own the 90, and it's cost to performance ratio outclasses everything else.

looking for the 17-35 though. any idea where i can get one?

Wow, so many people use the 17-50mm f/2.8
I bet it's that auntie in Cathay that hush you into it :lovegrin:
Anyway, the review is great.

How much is it and where? I long for itttt

Bought it used here in the US with 5 years left on the warranty. Don't think can compare price to a new local set in Sg!

this is the fixed aperature right??

Yes 70-200/2.8

It does indoor sports quite well, but I haven't had the chance to compare it to other 70-200s, especially the Sigma 70-200 HSM II.

Some concert photos to share. Achieves focus lock in such dark conditions quite remarkably.

Nice dark indoor shots... good examples.. in my opinion..

i love my tammy 28-75 f2.8and recently 90mmf 2.8
I am only willing to pay $500-700 for good lens...and no regrets very good lens for the price..
hope there will be a uw lens around $500-700 soon...

Tammy 17-50mm F2.8 non VC. thinking should i change to VC version wahhaa

yes it's sharp! although it has a bit of purple fringing i think, but nowhere as severe as the 70-300.

recent photo shot at f2.8. if it's not sharp enough it's probably due to my poor macro skills

actually WYSIWYG.
the tamron 90mm is better on film cameras and not as excellent on DSLRs.
I compared it w N's 105 and 60mm macro and C's 100mm macro. The quality reflects the difference in price indeed.
If not too picky about the fringing, then i can say it's sharp enough. But certainly nothing astounding.

Some shots from Tamron 70-200 from an event tonight:

Not available in Singapore?

Anyway, B&H sells this lens for US$729 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=tamron+70-200&N=0&InitialSearch=yes)

It has a decent close-up capability of 0.32x magnification at 200mm. Not 1:1 macro but I'm tempted to sell off my 90 Macro since I hardly use it anymore.

Been using the 17 - 50 for quite a while. Very pleased with it. Recently got the 70 - 200. It takes beautiful photos. Thou have to say i wished the AF was better. If only tamron had like an upgrade kit or something to replace the motor for something faster.

i got 3 Tamron lenses.i used them more often than my Canon lenses.overall Im really impressed with its performance and sharpness.

1.AF 90mm Macro 1:2.8
2.AF 17~50mm f/2.8 IF
3.AF 70~200mm 1:2.8 IF
:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

I picked up a pre-owned piece recently for two-fifty at Peninsula SC.
Probably in 9/10 condition. Clean glass, focus/zoom reasonably tight. No box or anything else.

Has anyone used 28-300mm VC on a cropped body? How is it compared to 18-270mm VC?
