Tamron Appreciation Thread...

love my sp 35-80. a very good manual lens.

A good and cheaper alternative lens manufacturer..
I owned the 28-70mm 3.5-4.5 MF, 28-200mm 3.8-5.6 AF and the ever popular 17-50mm 2.8 AF on my Nikon F601 and S5Pro..

i have worked with my tammy 90mm for a year.... no complains

Tamron 200-500mm......

interesting  no mention of the 70-200 :p

Tamron 17-50mm, attached on my cam 90% of the time.

Perhaps it's because the lens is not widely available? Or that photographers here prefer the Canon/Nikon's offerings, with IS/VR!

My 17-50 F2.8 was on my camera 95% of the time and just loved it. Now it's replaced by the 17-50 F2.8 VC which I love even more!

Tested both the Canon 17-55 IS and the Tammy 17-50 VC side by side and could not justify paying so much more or see any major difference in image quality. The Tammy is better made by the way and comes with the lens hood! :) Who cares if the Canon is "quieter"?

Love this lens!

Tamron needs to wake up and release their 70-200mm VC. It will totally own the market.

 for the 180mm macro. Light and capable of great images

Used the 28-75 on saturday for an event...

Oh the colours and contrast..so awesome...

i have a tamron 17-50, 90 macro, 70-300 and a quantaray clone of the last lens.

is the 90mm sharp wide open?

is the 90mm sharp wide open?

yes it's sharp! although it has a bit of purple fringing i think, but nowhere as severe as the 70-300.

recent photo shot at f2.8. if it's not sharp enough it's probably due to my poor macro skills

anyone out there use or used a 17-35 f2.8-4 before?

Used it for a while, must admit it's quite a sharp and fast lens, solid feel (Very value for $$ wide angle lens for FF Budget users) but the devil within me still prevails. Still end up getting the Nikon AFS 17-35 f2.8. Now selling the Tammy 17-35 2.8-4. Any takers? :)

WTS Tamron 17-35 2.8-4 (Nikon Mount)

I'm amazed by the 19-35 lens too + for it's price.

Just for info, I'll have some other tamron lenses coming, do take a look at my thread. thanks!

just gotten a 17-35....its awesome..the contrast which is lacking in my 17-40 is so punchy

I agree with you.

I love my SP AF17-35MM F/2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical (IF) for the sharpness and my AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical for the superzoom both Canonmount.
