Local authorised dealer if i'm not wrong is 3 years warranty.

DD electronics gives 1 year shop warranty...but the price is like ~$300.00++ difference?

Yep, i think he bought brand new at DDelectronics, it should be a grey set!

Their website is selling at $700 so if he confirm is $620 then I'm going to buy one of it

Bro Raptor937,

You buy the len at $620 brand new?

Regards,

Victor

Yes I got it brand new at that price from DD Electronics.

However it doesn't come with an international warranty only the shop warranty.

:)

I know it's a shop warranty but DD elect salesman told me that they r not selling $620 so how u get this price as I'm buying also. Is it the correct lens u bought 18-270mm?

Yes I bought the 18-270mm.

I noticed that their prices fluctuate quite a bit while researching for place to buy this lens, so I waited till their prices dropped till below $700 then I placed the order. At one point of time the price of the lens reached till about $740.

So I guess it is a waiting game for the right price.

:)

hi is lens creep normal for this lens?

Yes! a major feature of this camera! ;)

Two other unusual features of this camera:

1. Stiffness in the middle portion of the zoom barrel as your zoom in or out (I think at around the 100mm area).
2. VC will occasionally "jerk"... kind of freaky when you see it for the first time, but perfectly normal.

I bought my Tammy yesterday at $718... Had a lot of fun taking the photos but the lens creep creeped me out a bit last night... HAHAH went back to DDE... Should have read this thread first... :P

As mentioned, there is stiffness in the middle of the barrel but the taut of the zoom barrel actually loosen after i took some shots...

I cant wait to bring the lens overseas! the photos taken look good!

I'm glad that you appreciate your new lens. It is a "one does all" lens and takes a decent photo! :)

but a difference of $90 compared to now?

It seems that the prices are changing daily, might be due to some currency exchange rate thingy...

Hi, would like to know if this len is suitable for nikon d3100?? ;p

ic btw how much would this len cost?

It's like almost $400 difference. But is it worth the money after all, the focal length are all the same?

I've read some reviews saying that it's softer in the 18mm range and vignetting not as good as compared to the older version.

I'm thinking of getting this lens too... (older version) Maybe to save the $400 for something else. XD

Is there really a $400 difference?!!

When it was announced I heard that the difference in price was going to be about US$30. :dunno:

Four hundred dollars is a little steep for very little difference. :nono:

If I were in the market, I would definitely go with the older model.
