yes it can be used on a Canon 450D
i have not tried the canon 18-200 so i would not be able to say which i better

Intending to get this lens too for my trip to Korea end of the year.
Shortlisted either this, the Nikon 18-200 or Tamron 70-200.
In the end decided on the Tamron 18-270.
May change my choice when nearer to the date.

They don't... the closest you get is the Tamron/Sony 18-250mm...which is much cheaper than the 18-270mm version. For Sony dslr the VC is built-in to the body...

Between this lens and the upcoming Sigma 18-250mm (the specs look good on paper), which will be better?
I am seriously considering getting an all rounder lens for travelling (sold my Sigma lens quite sometime back), any advice?

aiyo, from their website it says

"Compatible Mount Canon, Nikon**"

currently there are no other mounts available, so only Canon and nikon.
and the nikon mount version has a built in motor so that D40/D40x/D60 cameras can AF with it.

In any case Sony or Pentax users should probably get themselves the Tamron 18-250mm instead. It's a lot cheaper since Sony/Pentax systems don't need the VC, and the extra 20mm at the telephoto end isn't a lot of difference. I myself got the Pentax DA 18-250mm which is supposed to be the same as the Tamron 18-250mm rebadged.

Anyone know where is the service centre for tamron?? And How do I check if my tamron len is it under warranty? I find this len super slow in focusing both low light and well light. I bought my len from TCW as well. Think the shop is not an authorised dealer listed in the ad...

Think you can Google abit on this, plenty of comparison...
Tamron is slow in focusing where nikon and canon are very very good.
but Tamron is better in certain range of IQ.
