Seriously get the tamron, the sigma flaring control sucks. You would make a huge mistake like me buying the sigma. Because my photos was crappy because of severe flaring by the sigma lens, always happens especially when I was at the grand canyon helicopter tour.

Agree on this, but I like the color though. Therefore just be mindful where are the lights when shooting.

It looks like the flare can be prevented using bigger/different flower hood design, but sigma does not have it nor other make. :thumbsd:

sorry,

Lost my lens hood, any idea where to buy it?
JEL Corp still don't have stock.

Thanks.

Hi with your tamron 28-75mm, understand there is no VC (Image Stabilizer). Would it matter if i zoom @ 75mm n take shots handheld but there is slight handshake? Would it cause distortion in the picture?

Just got the Sigma and looks like have to go to SSC.

The candidate is the sigma, you can see its 24-70 f2.8

i see.

at f8, both are almost the same.

but at f2.8, i can't find the focus point of your sigma picture... so can't really compare

oh

i think i made a mistake.

The sigma picture has a different focus point from the nikon 50mm.

its the same focus point (the edge of the shelve) and at the center of the pic. the sigma is soft/out at 2.8, but this test is taken without sending the sigma to service center.

i see.. so did you get sigma service centre to fix it?

it seems that one must bring a laptop and view 100% when buying lens... to save more trouble...

Tamron is a good buy, but take note that the focusing speed is a slow compare to Sigma.

Do you guys find the awb on the tamron to be quite inaccurate and inconsistent? It appears to be fine most of the time, but the inconsistency comes in under warm indoor lighting. I am using it on canon.

would rather say its the camera fault...

Hi there, I thought of getting the Tamron but I dunno if the AF is fast enough for catwalk shows / fashion shows. Anyone can provide feedback on this? Thank you.

The Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 in question is the new one or old one.
