yes bro..its a macro...

another new user of tamron 28-75mm..

just tested it yesterday taken at 28mm f2.8
the IQ is good...however the af still needs improvement...same as my previous tammy 17-50mm f2.8, the af point always not accurate n slow...got to half press a few times to capture the rite spot...anyway, im intending to use mf selection instead...

But for that price...its an extremely good lens..with excellent optics!

just got my tamron 28-75 for my d700 too. seems abit not as wide to me comparing the fov of 17-50 on crops body. anyone feeling the same way as me? but it is definately a good buy .....

of cos bro...17mm at x1.6 or 1.5x is still wider than 28mm on a ff body:)

yeah good buy.

How do you find the Tamron lens?
Do you find it slow? I did test it out at CP once.. The hunting seem a little long....:bsmilie:
These two lens are of my either shopping list.
I am using 18-50 sigma dc lens (on nikon 1.5 crop - 27-75)

So if i were to buy Fx body and use sigma 18-50 as compare to this tamron. i am in fact indifference. of the similar distance.

As for sigma 24-70 it seem more of the useful distanct at wide 24mm.

sound like i am leaning more to Sigma lens.....

just got tamron 28-75 f/2.8 for my d90 today, no issue on the af and hunting seem fast and accurate. tried sigma 24-70 f/2.8, gosh it's heavy. tested it out today, so far so good. sharp copy too and quite satisfy with it

Finally took the plunge and get a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 w/ built-in motor for my D90 yesterday.

Some observations:
- NO AF issue (used at Japanese fair in the evening, and 90% no hunting when there is sufficient light)
- A little noisy (like 2 plastic rubbing each other) during AF
- As sharp as I like even at f2.8 (since I am using on a AP-C body)
- No IS/VR etc.. handheld a little tricker at 75mm since shutter around 1/15 only. Hard to catch actions without pumping up the ISO.
- Tamron rear lens cap not compatible with Nikon lens

i think getting a sharp copy and a good one is important..the last 17-50mm tamron, i had a hard time focusing n i didnt realli find the lens sharp..and becos of this, i always didnt quite like to get tamron lens, but i was impress with this lens thou...

I had mine during last year Nov, got it off TCW 2nd hand for only S$450 and its still one of the sharpest lens even at wide open i ever owned. ;)

Just sharing a shot at f3.2, tamron at 75mm

except for cropping...its quite sharp..considering i didnt have time to properly zoom

Reviews for the Sigma 24-70 HSM has been pretty phenomenal, it's also said to outperform the cannot 24-70L lens, and won an European award for best lens 09/10.

Only problem is that it retails at 1400ish and shops don't want to bring it in. U can arrange for viewing at sigma headquarters in Singapore though.

Overall the tamron is much better value for money, although i chose the Nikon 35-70 instead. haha.

I have 28-75mm tamron, and I find that the result is excellent - although I do find that the Red color seems to be over-red. I was taking a dark red bbq pit but it appears as super red! Anyone has such issue? I am using canon 40D

the issue lies with the 40D.. what picture style were you using? standard tends to bump up the red a lot. the overall saturation is also increased in standard.

i usually use neutral with my 40D ;)
