tamron 17-50

OT abit.. the guys who own the VC model do you hear this mechanical whining sound when the VC engages and disengages? is it normal cos its quite scary sounding and rather loud too.

when i switch off the vc the sound is gone.. just got the lens so hoping nothing is wrong with it.. any ideas?

Yeah, when the VC kicks in it sounded a bit like a creaking door hinge but nothin to worry about cos it takes great photos in low light. In the day or bright lit place just turn the VC off. This lens is now my staple lens and I've sidelined the 18-105. Going to Great Ocean Road tmr to see if can catch some great sunset;p

QC problems, should be the CPU connections. maybe can bring back to JEL and ask them for servicing.

i thought it happened only to 18-270 VC lenses :devil:
is your lens the VC version of 17-50?
have you solved the problem? just curious
