Can you post pic on the problem you have?

Just add
on the end of url.
Hope this help.
Your tammy is with vc or no vc?

Thanks...mine is non VC..wat do u tink of the picture?it seem soft to me at F2.8.

hi guys,i just got my 17-50(non VC)..i realise that my picture doesnt look sharp at F2.8 as compare to photo in F5.6. Is it normal??or the lens is not well calibrated??anyone can help to clear my doubts??thanks:(

all lenses will be sharper when stepped down, compared to when wide open.

So f5.6 being sharper than f2.8 is normal.

The tamron 17-50 is sharp wide open in center. At least mine is. Stopping down makes no big difference in center. Check for front/back focusing issues.

DOF is not = sharpness actually

Agree...

seem like i need to go down to the service center and let them cal for mine..:o

There are lens that has a good front/back focus (good DOF) but not sharp below f2.8. If I were you, i would go down to the service center as well.

my tammy oso soft at 2.8 when i 4 and above, it is more sharp.

i would say ur 2.8 looks great! i dun see back or front focus if i assume u are focusing on the bottle itself.

i agree. the test focus seems great. it a minmum front focus but the object in the center is still focus. u must consider the dof of F2.8

so i suppose its a common symptom when shooting at wide aperture..:)

quick question with your new tamron vc...have you encountered while taking pics..AF stopped working and camera wont even take pictures...but after you turned it off & on, the problem disappears and its back to normal again?

mine is not vc version..:)but i nv encounter your issue before.cheers

I saw your pics. The pic @2.8 looks soft but actually it is not that soft. It is because the the DoF is a lot thinner and the edges of the bottle is actually a little OOF. Look at the wordings in dead center of the bottle, it is actually ok. Look at the last line of text on the label, the words "US" is fine.
