Tamron 17-50 f2.8

Just bought a copy from MS Color. canon mount! It's really fantastic and impressive!! Good sharness, color and contrast, focusing speed (eventhough slightly slower than USM - but consider that price point), value for money!! the zoom ring slightly stiffer but still acceptable.:thumbsup: grap them b4 they are gone!!

Worsen? Slim filters should improve, and possibly eliminate physical vignetting. If you're using a 1.6x crop body, vignetting should be next to eliminated.

If you're talking about vignetting on a FF body, then it cannot be eliminated because the image circle of this lens is smaller than your image sensor.

The lens doesn't zoom when focusing but the focusing ring does rotate.

It is plastic but it feels good.

I don see the possibility of adding slim filter will improve the situation but only to minimize vignetting getting worst or not adding additional vignetting.

True, but in real life application, it rarely happens, yes? The reduced image circle causes physical vignetting on sensors bigger than the lens is intended for. On a cropped sensor body, that it's intended for, it should vignette very minimally, or not exhibit vignetting at all.

Normally this range of lens image quality and focus speed will be more Inferior.
If you need 2.8 and do not require longer end tamron 17-50mm is the one

Agreed. But I'd rather go for a 17-40L because I intend it to be compatible on my film body (and it's an L. Heh)

P.S. the photo..... than no need to use any "L" lenses.
