eikin,

Just do it!

We will give you the supports.

i don't need support, red cross needs support, and we need people to volunteer to coordinate this!!!

hey, i'm starting with school work also and you know my line of work once work starts means no time for anything else one, but let's set aside 3 weekends say before CNY to do this, first weekend to discuss all logistics, 2nd weekend to tie up the loose ends, and third weekend to DO IT! .... errr... still no reply from police leh ... :(

er.... this support are different from that support, I mean is since no one with experience is able to step out now, how about you do it, in stead of keep waiting for each other?

Almost forgot you have to start with school work liao. Sorry.

Guess we have to wait for some other people liao. :(

err... i am not waiting, i just want to point out that i can't coordinate this alone, if there's a support for this we'll do it, given the permit, but it's teamwork, not one man show lor

what we need are people who can step forward and say ' i can cover this area of responsibilty' ... like getting sponsors etc ... I AM SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE PEOPLE WITH THE CORRECT MEANS AND CONTACTS rather than me going around emailing and calling at the wrong authorities and get nil replies :(

like for example Wai has made a relevant point over PM why setting up a workstation will be faster and more efficient, it's a very good suggestion, but if there's no resources etc. no one can get this working, i really salute him to step forward although exams are so near, 1 day is enough to start something. FYI i am doing my FYP this semester also.

i also got FYP which due on March 24

anyway, i can handle the setting up of printers and computers and monitors for printing and editing.

I do have spare computers and big LCDs to showcase the photo that we take and it will attract pple attention to come to the booth.

however i dun have inkjet printer at home...of cos it will be best if someone have contact with canon or epson PR pple to sponsor their fastest and lastest inkjet machines, but the most important is still consumable like paper and ink.

worse case, will get epson printer + continous ink system, the cost of printing will be lower...but then still need photo papers which are rather costly.

hey catchlights, sorry for the CAPITAL LETTERS i used in the posts, just trying to get attention that we need people to come in to coordinate  really paiseh if i caused any misunderstanding!

get your logistics and things sorted out. I have spoken to Epson and they have agreed in principle to come on board for your project, with perhaps the possibility of selling printers too with some proceeds going to charity.

Let me give you one tip: the foreign worker communities is one area seldom tapped into. The fact is they care as much as anyone else and they give as much as they can. Perhaps one booth on Sunday outside Lucky Plaza, one more at Little India?

Also, we need to be respectful but it doesn't mean the photo sessions can't be fun. Perhaps you can recruit street performers as well to entertain people queuing?

OK, it's YOUR project. you do the planning, I just connect you with the sponsors.

Did you guys notice kaychin's post above, if Epson agrees to help us, we can even take turns to do it at different location on different days. As suggested above.

It seems that this project will take off.
If you can bring a laptop with photoshop, I will create a border template to paste at the top of the photo (just in case the sky is grey)
this border might be a title to the location and date.
Any suggestions?

For tripot, lightmeter and reflector I can lend it to you guys even if I can't make it on that day due to work and maybe going to HK in mid Jan. If catchlights is around, I don't mind passing everthing to him.

Just trying to help in any way I can as I really hope we can do something for the Tsunamis victims

sounds interesting. will help in the coordination if the legal side of it is solved. :)

A couple of other logistics needed for each location:

1) Signages (design & production)
2) Tentage (just in case it rains)

Any sponsors?? ;)

hey chaotic, got a PM to send to you, can clear your box? paiseh ah! thanks!!!

my email to the police came back with a dellivery failure notice, will try calling later. meantime my friend in NUS has advised us to get support from registered charity organisations if we are to speed this up, as approval for permit usually takes 10 days.
