165. Notice Board
Without knowing the meaning of this I just jump off the baricade and proceed to climb to the peak...after I went back and ask my colleague the meaning of this, I'm glad I'm back in 1 piece ;p
PS: in here the year is mentioned as 98, Taiwan year 98 is equal to roman year 2009.
So 2011 is equal to Taiwan year 100

Me and another tourist from mainland China waiting at the peak until the fog cleared. We chat and shot some pics in between, he wait for 30mins+ and I wait for 1hr, but the fog still not cleared :(

Thank you very much for the comments, lordhamlet. I'm trying to get the area where most tourist didn't go to, but some area is not really accesible unless you have own transport :)
Any area around north that you can recommend ? :)

And I saw this is ur virgin post, a very big welcome to Clubsnap !!! :D

Thank you very much for dropping by XavierShoot.
For this trip I bring 3 zoom lenses, they are 10-22mm, 24-105mm and 70-300mm. I focus more on the range, that's why I decide to bring these 3 lenses, so at least I got coverage from 16mm - 480mm (I'm using APC body)

Beautiful and stunning pictures! I love your composition and postprocessing!

Thank you very very much for the encouragement Rawbeansta, still in the learning stage :)

Thanks, I have been reading the forum for a while now but never felt the urge to register. Until I finally wanting to leave a word for your post :)

Anyway, it seems that you are going to stay in Taipei for a while. From your photos, I think you haven't been to Maokong and Yingge, and I would recommend these two spots.

Maokong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maokong and http://wikitravel.org/en/Taipei/Wenshan) can easily take up a day if you like to hike. Taipei Zoo is also there, so you can take a walk inside it (they now have pandas :D) and then after the tour, take the Gondola to the top of the Maokong mountain and then hike there. When it's near night time, you can then find a tea house facing Taipei city, have dinner, tea, and enjoy the night scene (if the weather is good). On the Maokong mountain, there is one famous temple called 樟山寺 where it has one of the best view (see http://travel.network.com.tw/tourguide/point/showpage/103056.html, but unfortunately the information there is in chinese).

Yingge (http://wikitravel.org/en/Yingge) on the other hand is famous for pottery. If you like pottery, or you want to buy some nice souvenir, this little town definitely worth your time. They have some very nice pottery, at quite reasonable price (you might need to bargain a bit, to get really good price, or go with a local friend).

Oh definitely don't forget to try the hot spring, given it's so cold in Taipei now. I believe your local colleague will be able to recommend a few good places to go to; if not, try Wulai (http://wikitravel.org/en/Wulai) and Beitou (http://wikitravel.org/en/Taipei/Beitou).

Have a nice stay in Taipei.

I have ard 2 weeks left in Taipei and will definitely visit the places that u recommend. Especially Taipei zoo, since I want to see Panda and Koala :D.
That's a very detail information u gave, lordhamlet, thanks a ton for your help.

And last but not least, I really really  ur country, the people, the food, the sceneries, the ambience, everything !! :) I wish can extend my stay here hehehe

169. Yushan Mountains
From the place I stand, I was on the same level with the cloud, if I can climb Mt.Yushan definitely I'll be able to see 'Yunhai' (sea of cloud)

170. Cheetah and Boar
The cloud's shape is like cheetah chasing a boar ;p
PS: I process these 2 pics as B/W due to the thick fog still "playing" around in the peak :(

The fog was soooo thick until I can clearly see the sun's round shape

172. Yushan's Peak
Finally the fog cleared for around 30 secs, manage to get few shots of Mt.Yushan's Peak

174. Moss
Many areas in the forest covered in moss, and this particular moss quite exceptional and interesting
The picture is taken at 300mm with distance ard 1.4m, so the actual thing looks quite small :)
