does anyone knows which camp has more people, Olympus or Panasonic?

Oly EP series seems to have more presence on most forums and here as well.
I seem to see more EP series out in the streets too. The Panny looking ones, when I get closer to ID the camera are usually LX series of pns.

I like to see it more like a pool of companies offering us consumers more interchangeable options, rather than breaking them into camps with all the "thou is better/worse", love/hate opinions.

1. What is your m43 camera model and what are the lenses and accessories bought?
Panasonic G3 with kit lens 14-42mm f3.5-5.6. Havent bought anything yet since I bought it this week. Intending to buy prime lens (got lobang?) and filters. Not sure if want to buy telezoom lens and small flash (I have Nikon sb600).

2. How did you come into m43 league and what was your previous camera used?
I am currently DSLR, prosumer n compact cameras user. I bought m43 because I find my dslr too heavy for my back problem. Good for traveling to overseas.

1. My m4/3 gear... you can read it on my signature, best compact system with prime lens so far...
2. Used to be SLR user and Digital Compact User...I bought m43 because I can take picture where DSLR are not allowed (may be because they mistaken the m4/3 as compact camera and afraid that DSLR can capture their soul ;-D)

I think that question can have different answer depend on who you'll be asking and where....in CS definitely Oly...since there's only Olympus buying and Selling list and occasionally Pany....in neighbourhood country like Indonesia Oly all around since Pany is not to aggressive in marketing (tough they have special site for Lumix) like to hear it from Malaysia, Thailand and Phillipines....when I go to international expo in Taiwan it looks like Pany all around tough Olympus also have many user.

Your Nikon f lens with adapter can use auto focus?

I'm using EP1 and EPL1
Lenses will be 17mm f2.8,14~42mm,45mmf1.8 and 40~150 4/3 lens with MMF2
I also using my Nikon 50mmf1.4 and 28mmf2.8
I have a FL14 for EP1 fill in
I'm guess compare to my Nikon FM2 and FE2 this is alot more lighter.

My m43 is Panasonic gh1 (bought without lens)
Buy my first lens olympus 17 mm buy in bns.
Buy on ebay few stuff
1. 37- 52MM step up.(so I can next time find 52MM cpl)
2. Samsung 500 mm f8 mirror lens
3. Nikon to m43 convert ( so I can mount the samyang lens)
4. Shutter release.
5. CCTV 25mm toy lens (which I never appreciate how it work)

Guess 17mm is on camera 95% of the time. Won't need 14-45 not 14-140. Relax mode with 17 mm

Why m43? Used to have Panasonic Lx1. Try something with higher iso

1. I'm using EP-3 with 20 1.7 and 45 1.8. I had 14 2.8 as well as the 14-42 MK2 but sold them off. I also currently have the Konica Hexanon 50 1.7 and Voigtlander 40 1.8 but am looking to offload them too as I feel primes with AF in such a compact body best suits my lifestyle.

2. I was originally a Canon DSLR user and m43 was a little unstable with bleak foreseeable future at that time thus I got a S90 to complement or swap with my DSLR setup when necessary. When the market picked up again with more choices, I got the E-PL2 and then changed to my current EP-3, and never looked back ever since. As I said, it suits my lifestyle as I am just a casual shooter who just wanted something that can give the extra oomph from compacts yet give the flexibility and technicalities of a DSLR, thus the m43

1. Currently using E-P2 + EVF2 + mZuiko 9-18mm + Panny 20mm + Panny 14-140mm + FL36R

2. Choose m4/3 due to the compactness for travelling. I really feel the weight of dSLR is a huge hindrance during travelling. Now I can even put my whole gear (except the flash) + s-90 into my compact leather camera sling bag, and nobody really know i am carrying a full set of camera in it.

I was previously using Panny LX-3, LX-2, Canon S90, Canon SLR EOS 50.

2. Was previously using a high end Olympus Compact, went straight into Olympus m4/3 without even looking at other brands because I believe Olympus OOC JPEG colors still the best

Initially was invited to Sony nex launch.. Then researched into mirrorless cams.. The more I researched the more I fell in love with the e-p1. That's how it all started

1. Started out wanting to upgrade from PnS and hey presto EP-1 was released. Fell in love n never looked back, using the EP-3 black w VF2 now weight of DSLRs was a issue to me.

Typically bring the the 14-150mm or the 20mm out latter when I need something more discreet. Photo taking with the touch screen really aids a lot coming to being discreet haha

Might be using the 14-42II R more if I do get the fisheye attachment, looks quite good for $200++ in cost

But what are the trade offs from my 550D with F2.8 lens? I'd really hate to buy it to find out that it only performs well in relatively good light machiam my compact PNS.

Can the EPM1 with kit lens take good pics of baby under normal indoor lighting?

I got a m43 mainly because of its compactness. I even sold away my entire DSLR setup (Canon EOS 500D + Speedlite 430EX-II + Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 + EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5) for the PEN... no regrets so far.

Upgrade from Panasonic LX3, weight is an issue fr me so m4/3 is the way to go
