I've used D70, D80, now using D200. The D80 and D200 give same image quality, with few differences like ergonomics, metering, etc.

If you want light body and don't need 5fps, go with D80. Nice colors right out of the camera for JPEG, little PP required. Battery really last for a long time, good for travel.

D200 on the other hand has 5fps which is very useful, and very solid metal body in your hand.
But if I just shoot JPEG, colors are not as vibrant as D80, but anyway you can add a custom curve to bring out the colors. Main reason I'm using D200 is 5fps, easier to do hand-held exposure bracketing for HDR. And it can meter with AI, AI-S lenses.

200-70= 130

80-70= 10

130 >> 10

hence D200 better lah!!! hahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!! :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Oh, how about D3?

3-70=-67

I may think again about my D3 dream. Really a big step back :bsmilie:

I tried both D200 n D80. Is almost the same as what Lynxiger said. The body for D200 is really solid n wider. But is really heavy. I would prefer something lighter n less bulky. I can carry and walk without too much concern for the weight. At the same time i can shoot good quality pictures.

i am also currently a D70s user thinking of upgrading to a D200. should i sell my D70s or should i keep it as a 2nd body?

might want to keep it for infrared photography, heard its a really good body for IR

Not much value for 2nd hand body as it's quite old. Just keep it.

I got a D80(budget la! haha)its great, but the D200 has a nicer body feel IMO.

And its also a lot heavier

Feels great to use...but my hands ache after shooting for a day with a heavy lens on :bsmilie:

Tell me about it.... my shoulders are suffering from the heavy bag... :bsmilie:

the price makes it worth it ;p

Really? No diff to me, coz I bought it when it first came out... mebbe it's a good deal now.
But now, I'd rather look at the newer line-up :bsmilie:

:bsmilie: I'll be looking too, but 'see no touch' :bheart:

Hope to keep this body for several years

love it :bsmilie::bsmilie:

bought d200 few weeks ago. very impressed, especially the speed. D80 is nice but dont not really balance well with big lens.
