I heard from my friends that there is an easier way in. No need to go into water. Be careful when going into water. Crocodiles are known to be around there. I will check with my friends on the easier route. But personally I will not go there due to personal religious reasons.

What do you means "personal religious reasons"? :dunno:

I think that place has a certain "history" which is in conflict with certain religious ____ (can't think of the word)...
I will go if it's in a group with you guys, otherwise will explore other places first :)

Why do u need a 1.4 lens? Most of us is with full landscape n macro setup, including tripod...

you went over the weekend har?
Heard quite a bit about this place, but never really attempted to visit. Guess there are still many other 'more accessible' locations to check out :)

Speaking of which, I heard that Pulau Semakau (a landfill island) is quite pretty. Lots of migratory wildlife (birders may be interested), and coastline also quite interesting apparently. Not all the island is accessible due to the landfill operation in progress. Can be dangerous if signs are disobeyed.

Searched more about this island, and it seems that access is kinda restricted. May need to be guided, etc... I will try to find out more first, and keep you guys updated.

Kinda wish I visited it when I did my industrial attachement at Min of Environment... :)

Went to Pulau Semakau before that time no cam so just go for camping and bbq ..quite nice

Thinking of doing a weekday newbies outing on 05 Jan 2011 Wednesday evening. Probably in the area at Tanjong Rhu. Anyone keen? Probably I won't be able to make it before 630pm. Anyone willing to help out?
