Bro in Germany wifi is not widely and freely available, except if you are staying in hotel or company's apartment which provides free internet access.

One alternative to call home is to buy their prepaid sim card.there's one from e-plus+ telco. It's about 30sgd (if the price is not increased) per top-up.You can use it to call back home or sms for urgent matters. The talk time for overseas call to sg is quite long..

I think all starbucks have free wifi. Problem is, compared to other coffee places in Europe, starbucks taste like piss. So there are not many starbucks around.

Thanks bros, aiyo, wake up 4 plus saw NEA web site Tekong raining so decide not to proceed ... was intending to go CP6. Should have proceeded. But slept late the night before so decided to continue sleeping instead. Paiseh to Intrepid who wanted to go too. Looks like maybe go there tomorrow morning then cheong to Waves for 'beat people die' session then possibly SunChaser gathering ..

Bro don't know if this is too late, but my recommendation is carpark no. 6 just beside SAF changi jetty to Tekong..Best to go during low-tide coz you can walk ard the 'extended beach/coastline due to low-tide.Lots of nice and interesting foreground elements for your composition. I took this during yesterday's sunrise:

CP2 got sands go all the way (processing photo now)
CP3 got rocks.

Not really lah..I was there 3yrs back for work. And seriously they are not so 'charitable' in providing free wi-fi in common areas/establishments like we have here.

I think all starbucks have free wifi. Problem is, compared to other coffee places in Europe, starbucks taste like piss. So there are not many starbucks around.

If I remember correctly even Starbucks doesn't have free wi-fi when I was there, unless they started to 'open' up their 'traffic' now.

Just got back from my usual weekend morning shoot. The weather was threatening to storm but luckily i persevered and by the time i reached the location, it was perfect. Processing the images now. Hope to see what others have shot this fine morning with Scuba at Changi Point and Jacobs leading a pack of photogs in macro. Should be interesting. :think:

I really wanted to shoot. After all the sian-ness I am feeling scratching my brand new focusing screen. :cry:

I was so depressed until my wife offered to buy me a new cam... But I told her focusing screen can change one and only cost 100.

It's just a piece of precision plastic (I think, not glass) that is under your mirror prism that is reflecting the images to your view finder. There should be focus squares with fine wires as well (which may or may not be on the focusing screen)... I haven't taken out mine, so may not know so well...

How it ACTUALLY works.... time to google once again...

You can change it yourself if you know where to get replacement part and the proper tool to release the screen. I think DD123 can show you a website (how they change the screens to split focus type)...

Actually, i am still going to use the focusing screen la. No point changing. It is only nicked at the top right corner.

My original one is still fine.
