Yeah got difference.. the one in my thread is from deviant art. i upload the big big file there but keep it displaying at 900 pixel only so they compress the image.

I am surprised that they didn't make the 85mm VR - that will be one hell of a lens.
Are they going going to replace the sensors in all the APS-C cameras with this one or will they opt for a higher megapixel model for D90 and D300s replacement hmm... Will be interesting to watch.

I thought the current 24-120VR was sorta criticized for lack of sharpness or something, am I right? So I guess they've "fixed" the problem. That's a damn useful range for FX as a holiday walkabout lens, something like 18-70DX or 18-105VR DX.
Seems like Nikon is trying to make 'affordable' zooms for FX.... a sign of things to come (affordable and hopefully small FX cam).... :think: time to BBB soon I reckon... :devil:
I think the 24-120VR is to go against the 24-105L from Canon directly. I think 24-120 will be the "kit lens" for "D700x" or "D800".
I don't think there will be a more affordable FX camera from either of the two big manufacturers though - they are already positioning their D700/5DII as the "affordable FF" option.

yeah i've seen D700 sold with 'kit lens' 24-120VR. But online reviews have complained about softness especially at the corners.
