[SunChasersSG] Newbies Outing (Part 22) - Sunrise @ The Promontory (Photo)

Yeah probably black card can help. I tried to bracket a few exposures. Will try to PP this evening and see how.

I share the same sentiments as you about my photos. Lacked "oomph" :D
Need to 'up' my imagination level :bsmilie:

Cant wait to see your photos! : D

:) As usual had a great outing

wow long walk :)
After reading Kit's comments about the architecture of the MBS complex, must agree that this is the more aesthetically-pleasing view. Worth exploring further at a future date (perhaps one of the next outings).
Good job! Wish therre was A BIT more breathing room on the right :)

Thanks Kevin . Noted... haha my bad habit of cropping too tight

I was there too but didn't join you though. Today weather isn't ideal for landscape. It's tad too cloudy. I can share some of my shots if you guys don't mind.

(This is no HDR)

I don't mind, but it may become lost in a sea of photos once more people post up their photos and comments are exchanged.

Wah, everybody got fastest fingers first!
Thanks to Jacobs for organising this wonderful outing. Thanks to Kit, Bryan, Kevin, coolthought and others for all good advice. Sadly no golden rising sun today, so will come another day.
Here are two of my humble shots. Please C&C.

These 3 have signs of over-done tone mapping. You used some kind of HDR software? Go easy on the sliders.

I'm playing with my camera's HDR, trying several WB :bsmilie:

any recommendation for HDR software? I want to make HDR pics manually, but dunno how :dunno:

my 2nd outing with the CS peeps, thanks for the guidance to some seniors though i dunno who u some of u are.. :embrass:

ps: im new to this, so my questions may sound silly.
1. why does my horizon look abit slanted? even though my spirit level is all properly aligned..
2. how do we pp such that the lotus is not overexposed? this shot no pp except for resizing..

thanks a mil!

It was a great outing this morning. Thanks Jacobs, and the rest of senior members for sharing all the good advices. Thanks to Kit for sharing with us his experiences and useful lessons.

Heres my share. Took this at about 645am with ND filter.

Love the cloud movements
The left side seems tight crop, the "lotus" is near the frame border le.

Hi zelot, thanks for dropping by.
Yup agreed on that. In fact, after i had done with everything then i saw it will be better if it was given about 2-4mm more of breathing space for the "lotus". My initially intention for a tighter crop , was to crop out the unwanted elements, in this case should be the apartments on the left of the "lotus". Updated the photo with a better crop this time.
Thanks zelot :)
