Sun Shootout @ Joo Chiat (7 March 2010)

Saint ZoomP, can ask you how you found handling the Hass after handling a Leica M? Takes some adjusting to right? I am interested too but found it a bit too bulky.

Saw a Bronica645 in RFF. Look like a RF! you may want to consider this.:)

Hahah bro... I want my MF experience to be different from RF. Love looking down at the huge prism.

Dun worry.. I will do my bit to poison zoomp :P

Bronica damn nice zoomp zoom zoom!

SMSed him early this morning but BG wants true MF experience. IN his own words: "Hah...I want mf experience not rf like mf lah."

I like this! I didn't know I thought like HCB when I made that decision regading MF!:bsmilie:
But the Bronica 645, Bessa3 & some of the Fuji offering are different!

Not too bad. It's really not that bulky. I like the handling but holding it level needs getting used to... The magnifier a must to use with this hassey. In two words - Love it!!!

thanks for the response. :)

This was the outing that got many poisoned by MF.
I wasn't at the outing, but I stood firm amid the onslaught.....

It is the MF format....nothing to do with me...Gommy...is time to venture new era...you already have enough play on the RF...almost 100 RF lenses...I doubt if there is anymore new RF lenses to excite you...

:)

...hehe...MF poison injected...

Hahaha... your injection not effective:bsmilie: Immunised liao, MF decision made more than 10 years ago.
And of course, there are still some RF lenses out there..that I'll like to touch & see....:)

Hey...Gommy...your antidote should have expired since more than 10 years...new virus evolved...no vaccine yet...:sticktong....

Life-time immunity!...:sticktong..

Then.........ZoomP posted a photo of tan131(a victim of the outing) with his Hassy on 21March:

I asked around and was told chrome lenses are older and their performance are not as good as the newer black ones...ooh...I see......

Then while searching for chrome LHSA M-body cover after seeing benny's, I stumbled upon a seller with a chrome LHSA Lux50Asph....Went to look at what other items he has on offer...then I saw tan131's version of the Hassy.

The description was:
"This Hasselblad 500C/M chrome camera outfit is in excellent condition cosmetically, mechanically and optically. ........ very rare and desirable Carl Zeiss 80mm F2.8 Planar chrome C T* lens. Desirable transitional chrome C T* lens. Almost all of the chrome C lenses were non T* but a few manufactured when they started making the black C T* lenses got the T* coating. Highly desired by collectors."

So I thot the difference in performance between chrome & black must be due to T* coating.
This lens is also much more compact compared to those that I've seen.....a plus factor..

To quote ZoomP: "Never say never....."
hookonclassic, Immunization failed.....but the lure was not MF but that chrome lens.
I'm lens-centric....I have a soft spot for lenses.....
DoveVader, no more secret to keep.:)
CK, sorry I lied when I met you at old man's. Please forgive me. Wanted to keep it under wrap before I make my announcement here.

On 7 April I won the bid! So here it is:

Welcome to the square world Gommy :)

Mine is the Chrome CT* Plannar 2.8 too ;)

Oh, one more thing though.. the first batch of 500C/M still used the 500C body but had the interchangable screen function. Maybe that will interest u too :P

And the rest as they say is History....!!!

My Zeiss lenses: I like the older styled "C" lenses more....more compact & has movable DOF scale.

and of course some accessories to complement.

Thanks! Now you know why I was looking for your photo.
Hunted high & low and finally found it in "Share some Japanese lens RF shots 1....":bsmilie:
Yes, my 500CM has the old, more "rounded" contoured body. :)
I've also changed the focussing screen to Acute Matte D Microprism/Split-image.
