Your eyes will spoil from too much HDR
I think it'll be good to have a HDR section, whethe genre or technique - does it matter?
The thing is, it's a specialised technique that can gather specialised topics/ discussion about the subject matter. And there is quite a lot of interest too, so why not?![]()
maybe we can call it radioactive section.....

in that case...could hdr be considered as alternative photography?- as in UV, underwater???
Well, HDR is not a genre in itself. It's a technique. The other subforums so far are genres, within which you may use a certain style or technique, for instance B&W conversion, or the Dave Hill look, or Selective Colouring. HDR is a technique that can be used for macro, for landscape, for travel, and for many other genres.
True. Not many people can truly achieve "true" HDR. I am guilty of producing radioactive HDRs once in a while, just for kicks.
Agree with calebk. HDR is just a post-processing technique that just happens to have many followers currently. The galleries are fine as they are.
Actually, no one can achieve a true HDR image as monitors today dont have the range to make the image properly viewable. All images you see have been tonemapped so that they can be viewable, they are no longer technically HDR images.
Nice to remove all HDR from all other forums into one single forum.
Does this mean true HDR can only be achieved on print?
Or print also don't have the gamut??
