Whenever country you're living in, you'll find things about the people there in general/government that irks you. Alot of ang mohs I know like to rant, or like to find things to debate about, while Asians tend to keep their mouth shut.
Of course, that's a big sweeping statement.

But I disagree with the part where he said that parents don't take care of their children... cause the parents I've seen here are loads worse. Imagine kids climbing the walls with cliffs that drops 100s of meters down just beside them, kids climbing on jagged rocks down to beaches that aren't suppose to be open to public..etc. Most parents just leave their kids to wander about on their own. And they aren't 7,8,9,10 years olds, they are 5,6 year olds. I've seen tons of similar cases.

Stupid Singaporeans
July 2, 2009 by cynicalangmo
I like Singapore. I like Singaporeans. Some of my best friends are Singaporean. Some of my girlfriends are Singaporean.

But Singaporeans really are frustratingly stupid. Fortunately their birthrate is only about 1.25, so they will all die off soon enough. Hopefully the Chinese, Malays, and Indians that replace them will be smarter.

In Singapore you drive on the left, like the UK, Australia, and Japan. So when you walk on the footpath, what side should you walk on? Well, it makes sense to me for it to be the left as well. But maybe that isn’t a big issue.

When you ride a pushbike on the road, which side should you ride on? Surely that makes sense? Nope, in Singapore they ride on the right. And when I tell them they are stupid **** they get upset. When I shout obscenities to wakr them up they look dumb. Well, d’uh YOU ARE ****ING DUMB!!!

And then there are the so-called cycling and walking tracks at places like Pasir Ris park or East Coast. Walk on the walking track, ride and blade on the cycle track? That makes sense doesn’t it? Not in Singapore. You walk and jog on the walking trace, and you walk and jog on the cycle track. And you get upset when I tell you to GET OUT OF MY ****ING WAY. Dumb *****. All of them.

But that’s not enough. They walk and jog both with the cycle traffic and against it. Lanes are clearly marked, even with arrows. I am going to start running into people.

And then there are the cyclists. I can almost forgive the stupidity of the children, but the parents are negligent, and obviously have no care or love for their children. They let them ride off on learner bikes unaccompanied and without road sense. They stop suddenly, turn suddenly, without understanding the big white guy on the bike behind them will crush all the life out of them if they hit. Warning: if I have a choice between me and your little darling being hurt, it ain’t going to be me. Keep them close, teach them not to be little ****wits.

And pay attention when you ride. Don’t stop in the cycle lane. In bunches. Or turn your bike perpendicular to the lane (that’s a really smart thing to do. Typically teenage girls. And these little bitches will be driving cars soon. I can only hope they have been killed off before they have the chance to do real damage. Or procreate).

I won’t even start on the schools that use the parks for class excursions without supervising their students, use the cycle lanes for cross-country running, and so on. They are just ignorant scum. If they had any real brains they wouldn’t be teachers.

I don’t like criticising the intellectually handicapped, but in Singapore there would be few left others to criticise.

How many % are PURE Singaporean ,% of PR, % of Work-permit, % of got cITIZENSHIP become Singaporean that made up the total population, before you comment stupidity think first, blind *******;(

that's right... no one force him to come here. but the thing is, he came, he experienced life here and he commented on it (the negative side of living in singapore). he is not wrong in writing that article. everyone has the right of opinion.

it's like singaporeans always mentioned that JB is a dangerous place to go to... but wtf... they still go there in throngs. double standard? on one hand, criticize like F***, on the other hand... still go because things are relative cheaper there. it's the same thing... nobody force singaporeans to go to JB... but they still go.

so are you trying to say that singaporeans have every right to criticize others while others cannot do the same about singaporeans?

ppl knn JB is a dangerous place never go there, ppl go there never knn and criticize

Majority of the people who go to JB from Singapore are Malaysians working in Singapore.

They go back to JB to smell the earthiness of their motherland, breathe a lungful of the Malaysian air and immerse themselves in Malaysianess and its essence.

There may be robbers and there may be thieves. But Malaysians always have a sense of danger towards living.

When I was about 8 or 9 year-old, I was learning to ride a bicycle. One day a group of small neighbourhood kids rush towards me. I braked and could choose to fall on the right side into the little kids or I could fall on the left side which was barbed wire fence.

I instinctly fell on the left into the barbed wire fence to protect the kids. A sharp spike went into my left knee. I didn't tell my parents about it. That evening they brought me to see a movie. After the movie I just couldn't get up and walk because of the injury.

So big Ang Moh, if you hurt a kid in Singapore, I don't think you wil be able to walk into your plane out of this country. Somebody may have to carry you. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Maybe the big ang moh in question is actually a 6 years old kid, and doesn't have the immense sensibilities that our great Sion has at 7 years old? :bsmilie:

Either way, I don't think anyone would voluntarily harm children. Just venting out frustration in the void of bits and bytes.

I have long since learned the "Zen" of regulating my heart rate when I do my evening jogs at East Coast, dim witted kids notwithstanding. When a Kamikaze kid on a bicycle comes speeding down the walking path, I just stop, and let the kid pass me by. No harm done, and no love lost. :bsmilie:

Wah lau eh, one chow FT comment about something that we have commented on before one way or another in the past, in the ST forum, stomp or the internet, and it becomes a big issue?

:flush:

Have you been the major shopping mall in JB?? Make sure u do before commenting, I just came back from Jusco Tebrau City, full loads of people, majority are Singaporeans, how to tell? from the way they talk, dress and act. Even I can tell who are local, who from the other side, not to mention about the eagle eyes of robbery.

The Malaysians who work in Singapore always act more like Singaporeans than Singaporeans themselves in JB to fool people and gain the respectability from robbers and thieves.

Even the JB local starts to elevate thermselves to talk, dress and act like Singaporeans.

This play acting and double personality will fool even the keenest observers.

pure nonsense...

why would malaysians act as singaporeans and put themselves as potential victims of robberies??? doesn't make sense to me...

maybe those genuine singaporeans who go into JB should put up the malaysian JB personality to avoid being targeted as prime targets by the robbers.

hmmm... it makes me wonder where should we go and take up some classes on acting like malaysians

doesn't make sense to me...

you need to spend more time in cs kopitiam.

50% of the time, uncle sion makes sense.

the other 50%, he makes absolutely no sense. :bsmilie:

You seem not up to speed with what is happening here in Singapore.

Many Singaporeans are now living in Malaysia by renting a house in JB and travel to Singapore for work.

Majority of the people who go to JB from Singapore are Malaysians working in Singapore.

So far I think 99.9% of what I've posted has made no sense.

But I can't stop my fingers from typing them.

They are out of my control.

uncle sion, you mean u tok rot when u told your falling off bike story? I want a real explanation from you if I've wasted shedding my tears after reading your moving story? :)

2ndly, my fingers are also getting smarter than me nowadays, is it the same 'aging' syndrome? so far I can still control my index finger for taking picture, and the middle finger for....Docs, where r u?

"Kopitiam" vs "Buy and Sell" forums, "Kopitiam" vs "Buy and Sell".... forums.... hmmm very hard to see which one is more beneficial.. :D

Some years back I used to cycle in London.. One morning got whacked by a car. She got off only to check whether her car was ok (it was not.. :sticktong thank God I was not hurt..).. Her "Didn't see you while turning" and can't be bothered with you just shocked me. I just cycle off and left her there inspecting the scratches...

Respect others and also ask to be respected. Does it really matter local or foreign, pedestrian or car driver or cyclist, Nikon or Canon (oops I forgot the Sony!)?

But seriously.... what's this all about?!

Marios, you're the most 'blended in' and localised 'ang mo' (not exactly white though hahaha,), heartlander I know who are so courteous and respectful being I know .... glad you're still around :) I remember I always had fun over coffee sessions with you, sometimes I wonder, shouldn't man live happily? hmmm....

It's true leh.

I can still remember it very well as it is the most painful experience I've had. I had to limp around for several days.

Your tears are all worth it. :)
