[streetNOISE] Thaipusam 2013

PLEASE NOTE:

Just did a recce of the temple grounds several hours ago. Part of the temple is undergoing renovation and blocked off. As such the temple grounds will be a lot smaller than last year (around 40% smaller). With this space issue, I am not sure if photographers will be granted access into the temple or not this year. If you can, I would strongly suggest you go shoot the event after 1am when the crowd thins out. Please pm me to let me know if you are coming 1am or after. I will still be around in the temple grounds.

Okay. it is fine. Any suggestion which range len do we need to use.
does it requires to use 70-200 to shoot this event?

You will need a wide angle more than anything.

And try not to use flash.

Bro,
Relax leh. I think that question is valid leh. not everyone can be so experience like you know what lens or equipment to bring.
thank you

Uncalled for. If you don't wish to help, kindly don't press the reply button. I also had to ask other experienced photographers on what is the desired focal length.

17-40mm, 35mm, 50mm, or even 70-200mm lens can also consider. the first 3 lens is good for walkabout and near distance. 70-200mm is more like you are far away from the crowd and do not wish / not able to get closer.

U can use 70-200 outside the temple, headshots of people carrying milkpots during prosession if u want..

Sorry for that uncalled for reply. It was more about like sometimes it's good to know what the event is in the first place. That'll already help make a good guess on what to bring.

But okay, sorry. I truly would not bring any super zoom lenses (a la 70-200). Prime lenses are good. Fast is best especially if you plan to go early, as in night time. The other thing you can consider is bringing a 24-70 or crop companion, something just in case. Cheers. Happy shooting and see all you guys there! Have fun!
