Why support US foreign policy and afraid of being attacked? What have Singaporean done to deserve all these? Just stop supporting US or the terrorist, let the Americans and terrorist kill each other. Singpaore should be safe without any stupid security. I believe the terrorist have more things to do than attacking Singaporeans. I may be selfish, but thats what Singapore should do to be safe.

hmmm...yeah lar. at first i thought of this as well. but, if all singaporeans have the similar mindset, as well as many of those other foreign countries, everyone will be in peril. we cannot be too sure and complacent of anything. :what:

i think these security watchmen can only got the guts in target only those foregin workers of dark skin originals or those chinese nationals or the old or the small kids. the watchmen will be too scared to check the bags of the Foregin Talents specially the white colour kinds. Think of having too much power to frisk body and belongs go into their heads then abuse of authority can take place.

The following could happen: With no steps taken to clam down on security, Spore becomes a hotbed of terrorist activity due to outside as well as interior influences. Singaporean terrorist caught/blew himself up causing mass casualties at ie. Austrailia/US. US tracks terrorist back to Spore. Spore gets on bad list of US as well as every other peace-loving nation.
Can u calculate the political and economic consequences of that? Remember that we have no natural resources (yes, this old line again), and depend heavily on trade & research.
In any case, we are a developed nation and the Singapore Government and its People do not hide. It just isn't done of a country of our stature. I have to say I'm proud of our stance and while it brings about extreme caution and inconvinences in our lifes, this just has to be done.
My comments & thoughts only.
ps. If this is considered political talk then my bad, very sorry. It will end here but had to argue that comment.
