Yup, i know the shutter count cannot be reset by the user. That is why i am wondering if they'd replace anything if it's still under warranty. Seriously, if Nikon is advertising so hotly about its bursting capability on TV (the horsies), papers, net, d2H purebreed, emphasing its "144 frames burst" on many of write-ups on the net, and now penalises people for bursting too many....... :nono:
......

Whatever floats your boat, but I think Nikon do not mean for people to use the D70 as a makeshift video camera... :D

No lar....come on, if we were to take a worst case scenario of 60k (which i think is the max but it probably could be less), over a period of 110 days, that's only 545 frames per day.

Just yesterday i shot 2 portraits, day/nite and some 12mm scenery for fun. Just 4 hours of fun. I bracketed exposure for some, that came up to 400 frames. I don't think it was coz it's digital i anyhow whack, i was using 50/1,8 most of the time with umbrella and CLS so it was pretty deliberate control. A full-day wedding i usually take 700 frames, events depends on importance and whether there are things to take (eg i'd not save on celebrities). The few trips to Indonesia it was easily 1k each time (main culprit is bracketing). Product or macro need prettly deliberate control and that is the slowest so it wouldn't matter. Of coz test shots make up the bulk. I think my working friend in this line shoots as much as me but just that :D he doesn't test.

Hmm....i just did a dir/w/s of my image directory. Only 12k images under D70. I guess i may have been testing too much. :nono:  But my other cams not as much as this though, looks like i like this cam best. :bsmilie:

Anyway, after so many threads, anybody knows how much does it cost then? :D

And as asked in the first post, how about camera hospital? I heard a 200 figure i think.

Speaking of your sticky shutter thing...2100.....

I also experience shutter refusing to fire on my D70.....I posted this quite sometime back to ask for advise.....was told maybe did not focuss properly or not yet focus....so shutter wont fire...

So I did many more tests since....I have noticed that when the shutter refuse to fire....its when i hold my camera in a 45 degree angle.......normal vertical and horizontal angles...the shutter fires fine....

So I concluded that the shutter is controlled by the orientation sensor in the camera and that if its neither here nor there...the sensor will be confused and the shutter refuse to fire....

I remedied this by either shaking the camera a little...increasing the angle closer to the vertical or horizontal position...and the shutter fires....

Anyone experience this.....? :dunno:

I doubt that is the case.. of weird angles.. coz.. I believe still in your case.. it was the focus cam not being able to achieve focus lock.
