This is interesting..... 2100, I don't think that u would like to test the break of ur new vehicle until it broke down?
Just to share that if shooting with an AF camera, do u realise that if subject is out of focus, shuttle would not release when set to programming modes?
Have u try with manual focusing or manual mode? The sticky shuttle happened to me when I started with Nikon F401s. This function is to ensure correct exposure in every 35mm negatives or positives when used with the manufacture setting.
U need only to fire a few shots to make sure ur camera functioning correctly instead of "abusing" the camera. By the way, i don't think that the shuttle counter can be reset by urself as Nikon would be able to capture numbers of shuttle u had fire in their service centre even with a 35mm SLR with electronic camera. Only camera like FM, FM2 (Fully manual camera) the service centre could only guess or estimate the usage other than that Nikon would be able to account for the numbers of fire the camera had done.... correct me if I'm wrong... as a result they could have the records breaking for F5.
There was once a pro sent his F801s to Nikon less than 6 months and claimed the mirror reflect malfuction, he was told by the serviceman that he had actually fired more than 60K within a short period and need geasing service... no warranty is given to him. :nono:
Try De Camera at City Plaza, 3rd level... Philip Tay would be able to tell u more ... He is one of the best Nikon Technicians. :bsmilie:
Actually, is firing say 2k shots for an event like soccer a lot? I thought that is the norm for publications like siphoto. Yea, difference is that their cams (and shutters) are pro-grade.
I use A and M, nothing else.
Those few occasions of 'sticky shutter', i don't think the conditions are due to non-AF. Coz there is a distinct AF beep, you press, nothing happens. Press press press...you gan cheong more and more and press more.....then it comes along and 8fps a few frames, i have reported that a couple of times in the few replies.
Yup, i know the shutter count cannot be reset by the user. That is why i am wondering if they'd replace anything if it's still under warranty. Seriously, if Nikon is advertising so hotly about its bursting capability on TV (the horsies), papers, net, d2H purebreed, emphasing its "144 frames burst" on many of write-ups on the net, and now penalises people for bursting too many....... :nono:
If the warranty is over i can understand, that is why i am asking for people's comments on what could happen if it is still in warranty. Of coz i am not expecting a lot from the D70 since it's not pro grade.
Thanks for the heads up on the Nikon tech. This is just a pretty rare happening, since it is still under warranty i probably will bring it back to the official repair centre first.
