Alot of times, it's either the theory is ahead of the work, or the work is ahead of the theory...

so in this case, there's a gap inbetween theory & the photo... and when the explaination comes in.. it was unable to fill in the gap.. so the message didnt manage to get across successfully to the viewer... hmmmm... what the hell m i toking anyway :bsmilie:

agreed : there is a 'theory' and the photo serves as a 'vehicle' to carry the 'theory' across. as i myself have already admitted in post #844,the picture isn't a particularly strong example.

hence, there is indeed a gap. but to me personally, the gap varies from person to person. for some, the gap is wide and hard to understand...for some, the gap is small. all i can offer is a small, weak bridge (my explanation) in an attempt to connect. whether the bridge is sufficient or good enough depends very much on how wide the gap is.

perhaps i have chosen a Grand Canyon and i've only built an overhead pedestrian crossing:bheart:

I like this one. like a hidden indentity but yet the evocation of the emotions is there. Gdd one!

thanks. honestly speaking i just about to nominate this one as the worst picture so far  it's really a simple shot without any thinking behind it  but glad that someone actually like it

I took this picture quite long time ago ( sorry pals! ) when going wif some church friends to Labrador Park. Happen to see this father who teach his daughter to cycle. Very romantic i would say. Decided to freeze the moment and when I reached home I realised somehow look like couple instead of father and daughter.

now i miss my dad

the dark picture somehow reminds me of Hindu's believe in the sound 'AUM' as the first sound in the universe

when pronounced correctly, the sound does seem to resonate throughout the whole body.. but i always get it wrong somehow

Aum!

The last hope? hehehe...like star wars like that...

anyway...interesting use of space with added texture...say...are you guys
being influenced by Zaren already?!...hahaha, Zaren is really bad minimalist influence...haha
spreading the minimalist ideology to other threads...hoohoo...

no no, in fact, i think Zaren's a good influence!

i've always enjoyed his sense of humour and admire his attitude :)

and thanks to him, we have this project going on in Clubsnap!

the funny thing about space is you can call space in whatever colour as 'white space' lol

and yes, thanks to zaren we have this APAD project =)

or, isn't it the other way around .. it is the APAD/PAW project that make us work (literally?) :bsmilie:

a friend of mine visited our thread and wondered about the mushy stuff that is going on here :bsmilie: therefore, i come up with a new meaning for our APAD project... "Amorous Public Affections Display Daily"

hmm  ever wondered what will our parents think when they see this :)

this gives an explanation of negative space in a painting, it will apply equally well to a photograph;
negative space

:)
