Thanks guys for all your support. :)

Now here's something for a Sunday:

I tried various angles from the bridge, and this is one of them (as you can see from the liveview) but they were all just weren't what I liked.

Hi Stefan,

Great work on this and I am always curious to know shooting on overhead bridge; will there be any vibration? I mean during long exposure; ppl walked pass and perhaps bus or lorries passes any overhead bridge; it will result in some vibration to the bridge.

May I know what is the exposure for this shot? Saw couple of CSer had done some photography over this place and I would love to try it as well. :).

Thanks.

Sorry to bother u Stefan but I'm thinking of giving this a try tomorrow and would like to know if construction there is complete. If so then there's no point in me going down. Thanks in advance. :)

Still under construction.

This is to the extreme right relative to the fishing jetty right?

Yep it is! :) Goes well with low tides!

Hey there Thomas!! Long time no see! I missed seeing all your works!

Anyway, you'll have to kinda time it right - when there's no one around or probably very little people (say just one or two walkers) it should be fine, and on the contrary the bridge wouldn't vibrate too much. And even if it did, as long as your clamp or tripod doesn't shift during the process of shooting you should be fine; for the whole of 2 hours standing there. hahahaha

The cranes if I recalled, took about 10 seconds shutter speed average; aperature f7.1 I think - the length of the shutter equals to the cranes' spin. For the light trails, about 10 - 15 secs should suffice. Just time the shutter speed right from where the vehicle starts from your position to the horizon to get that seamless trail of light.

Thanks for the tip man. Appreciate it.

Hahaha, don't worry the D'Leedon is still underconstruction - should be complete sometime middle next year around this time I heard. The shot was taken this year, so no worries. :)

I highly suggest to stockpile on food, (Please, please eat your dinners first!) a chair or something. It WILL take a while, because it depends on how lucky your are for the cranes to spin.

The Punggol Play

2 image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies. Punggol Beach, Singapore.

Another shot that was done with the Sony A99 + 16-35mm combo. Image quality came out the way it was, dynamic range was super fantastic. Making use of its mileage before returning it soon.

Oh and it's been a while since I've been here!

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your information. I will try it someday. Cheers.

For Once, I Was Happy

... To shoot on a Monday.

Single Image RAW, using GND 0.9 soft. Changi Beach, Singapore.

Was just lucky to be free on a Monday to witness this ultra lowtide morning and the glow of the beautiful sunrise. Thought I'd like to try a brightened scene for once.

UPDATE: Remove dust spot and cloned out a small, distracting cloud on top frame.

The Indian Ritual

2 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft. Changi Beach, Singapore.

Time to tone up the contrast and exposure from the previous shot. Anyway the artefacts and urns of this beach correspond to the choreography of the sunrise. Oh how I always love shooting these urns to that "galactic alignment". :p

Come Fly With Me

Single Image RAW, 2 image time lapse exposure for foreground and 1/125 secs for airplane using GND 0.6 soft. Changi Beach, Singapore.

Timed it right for the plane to past by just above the sunrise together with the couple. Human elements are a rare thing in my photography, as I personally do not really need them depending on subject matter. But the young couple is just lovely standing there with just the right light and timing. Toned up brightness and slightly overexposed it - afterall it's a happy occasion.

Once again the dynamic range of the A99 is supreme. I actually didn't do much else to the shot other than blending the two exposures and tweaked a little.

Stefan,

THe last one is superb and the elements fall together nicely to tell a story.

Somehow the bright mood of the picture doesn't go with that story though. I'm envisioning a darker photo with more vibrant colors, I somehow think that it may work better. Not sure what you think. :)

sending the last image to Front Page of CS :)

I find that the brightness is fine and it doesn't darken the silhouette too much, which goes well with the colours of the horizon. For the intended message, i think this works for me. Personally i think a slight increase in contrast would be ideal, only very slight increase would do

IMHO, if the plane is lifting off, then the brightness goes with the mood, in this case the plane seems landing, so I would have to agree with edutilos.
