please note that d60 does not auto-focus with AF-D lens as it does not have an on-board focusing motor.
only AF-S, sigma HSM and some tarmon lens can auto-focus on d60.

thanks for the advice guys.
I am eyeing on Nikon for quite sometime. Just that don't know which ones is the best, cause there's just too many...

and my nick is a brand of my new clothing line for an online store. Plus it's also a club-name in Dubai. Pronounce as BO-U-DO-AR

PS: I live in dubai. and travel alot. So, if there's a cheaper or better place to get nikon other than Singapore, let me know. So, I can save a little here and there.

Hey ppl imma newbie too, now deciding between 450d and d60.
will go to IT show to look around. probably just using the kit lens until i saved enough money for other stuff.
Besides a dry box, what else do i need to keep a dslr alive??

nvm about that...

im currently using a PnS now and this would be my first dslr. i dont need any cleaning equipment right? since both have sensor cleaning function. what about the lens itself?

To TS, what is your budget, really? There is not much to choose between different brands.
But its hard for us to give suggestions on specific models if you don't state your budget.

A simple blower and lenspen will be good, plus a dry cabinet.

sensor cleaning or not, it doesn't matter

if dust is welded (i.e. with moisture) it will stick to your sensor and all your vibrations (that's how most sensor cleaning functions work) will not shake it off. you still need to clean it eventually, just less often.

HEY, I AM A NEWBIE...
Wants to learn more about photography plus, no idea which camera to buy. All look good.
Anyone if any idea on which is the best in town. Let me know. I want to get a good one asap. Travel alot. nice shoots to take.

Hello...welcome.

As I have mentioned many times in the forum that given today's advanced technology, all cameras will be able to give you decent photos if you use them within their limitations. So it doesn't really matter which brand you choose and I would strongly suggest that you look at what the other brands can offer you too. Besides Nikon & Canon, Sony, Pentax & Olympus do produce great cameras as well. Best is to have 1 or 2 models from each brand and try them out in the shops to see which is more comfortable to you. Just listen to your heart and choose the one that you're most comfortable with.

Do make some effort to do some research on each cam you have shortlisted as well to see what are the limitations and if you are able to accept them.

WHAT CANON OR NIKON ONLY

WHAT ABOUT PENTAX :angry::angry::angry:

Haha... Pentax are for the experts lah...

Anyway, night86mare is one of the most friendliest and helpful persona around.

Thanks night86mare, for sharing info previously with me. :)
