Starting a (short) Filmmaking Hobbyist Club?

Can I just ask, who is the "target" membership? There seems to be some overlap between this "hobbyist club" and the "motion picture professional group" so I'm not sure if this club is for amateurs or pros (or both). :dunno:

Anyone interested in making a short film - professional or not. As for membership size i'm hoping enough people are interested to be able to fill in the spaces for a production crew.

-Producer
-Director
-Cinematographer
-Sound
-Set managers and Logistics
-Gaffers, Grips and Production assistants
-Editor

Of course the above would be a best case scenario, but I have a few scripts I'd like to direct, or whoever else who has a good concept that they'd like to see turned into a film. Everyone will have to work for free and a meal though...but if you're a professional who'd like to join it should make a great addition to your portfolio provided everyone gives their best to make a great looking film. For non-professionals, it'll definitely be a fun experience to make a film, and everyone will be able to learn from each other and improve their craft

I'll say it's for both. We all have to start somewhere.. as long as everyone is willing to share and work together in creating a film.
If willing, we could even be starting a whole new community, driving a forum and even making a feature in the near future..
But I guess as first step, getting acquainted would be a great way to start.

Anyone interested in making short films? Any interest in starting an interest group? I'm pretty keen on making a short film this june during the school holidays for fun and possibly for competitions. Anyone passionate enough in filmmaking wanna join in? Should be a fun learning experience with everyone contributing their skills and knowledge, and with a collective effort, we'll be able to make stuff that looks great! Not to mention, for those interested in building demo reels, it'll make a great addition to your portfolio.
