I always wanted to do a photography blog, recently but i was wondering which one is more user friendly. So far i have narrow it down to blogspot and multiply. Hope to hear from the senior bloggers what is your thought of each site, please advise.

Use both lor... I also do that... :)

Try wordpress.
They have tons of beautiful templates.

me using blogspot.. :bsmilie:

I'm using pblog on pbase :bsmilie:

rick, since you have your own domain, why do you try using joomla?

AFAIK, use blogspot to post photo is really sucks, multiply seems better, but don't like the skin, very XMM look.

use wordpress better, always got new version every few weeks. keep adding new features.

joomla hard to configure, esp posting new post for beginners... wordpress is idiot proof... but dun need a idiot to prove it.

before i settle on joomla, I look at Wordpress and Movable Type, Movable Type seem better for photographers, but I have problem setting it up Moveable Type.
later I found out Joomla can work together with Gallery very well, so I settle with this, anyway, people like me have zero knowledge on CMS also can set up, what else could I ask for??

dunno about blogspot, but most have widgets that you can put in sidebar. depending on the type of template you have.

wonder if u could edit something like the sidebar.php, u dun edit your index.php...

So far i did not touch any of the sidebar. Maybe i place it wrongly? :(

hmm... maybe i should reg a blogspot 1 and play...

its either u place it in... sidebar.php (or something like that...)

or...

index.php then inside it... look for the following.

<sidebar> or

inside the .css

#sidebar

I guess it pretty depends what is the purpose of your blog for... Am using wordpress now... the only thing about having your own site is that it takes a LOT of effort to setup, design and maintain...

Anyway, heard lotsa good things about joomla, but have yet to find time to customise it. Any experiences to share?

yes... dun start... :bsmilie:

its so powerful that its hard to comprehend...

Blogspot is easy to use, i've combined with my Flickr account and uploading on the move from either my phone or notebook whenever i am outside. I think each blog hosting sites have their PROs and CONs. It all depends which one you are comfortable with.
