Star trail in Singapore

Beautiful star trails Jeremy! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Probably going to do more star trails when I have the time and the sky is clear.

Did not have time to take picture of star trail due to work commitment. I also lost my previous account linctran2204 so must reg a new one :( to post this pic recently taken in macritchie reservoir park. It was taken with nikon d90 and a broken kit lens 18-55 (i drop it into the sea in bali T__T, so the autofocus function was gone. However, it is the widest lens I have so...) Thanks for viewing.

Nice shot linctran! What is the date and time of this latest shot? Out of fun and curiosity, trying to figure out if the some of the bright "star" trails are actually planets. :)

Thank you. I took this on Monday, 16/6/14 :) from 9:30 to mid night

Another one to keep the thread alive. It seems like nobody is interested in startrail :D

Perhaps astrophotography is a niche within the niche of amateur astronomy. Sky needs to be co-operative and the photographer having the patience and commitment. So I don't think people are not interested. Just not aware it can be done right here in Singapore on a clear night. Keep shooting and posting your shots! :)

The problem is that we wont know when the weather is favorable for photographing star. I normally observe the sky 15 minutes because going out. It will be very hard to organise like that T___T

Another one taken in bukit gombak. The tree is nice

Another one for a lazy Sunday afternoon

Nice shot, this one also taken in macritchie reservoir? seems light pollution there is still acceptable.

It really depends on the iso used and exposure time. Low iso normally performs better
