Anywhere to get the color gels locally for an affordable price? I'm also looking for a mini lighting stand, I think the Manfrotto one is ard S$100 but CP told me no stock atm. : /

hi guys, been reading up on strobist stuff now.. planning to get a pair of skyports.. can anyone tell me how do i connect the receiver unit to my 580exII. what i know of is to buy an adapter or hardwire a 3.5mm monoplug to the pc cable(got this answer from another thread).. where can i buy the pc cable and monoplugs.. help me skyport users.. thx.

Hi guys, I've been experimenting with some Strobist techniques, quite a fun experience so far

I have been looking up on gel swatches for my flash etc and chanced upon the Rosco swatch book and Lumiquest FXtra gel holder for small flashes so I ordered the set from Adorama.com and vposted it here (local shop didn't seem to have the Lumiquest model I was looking at)

I could have made the holder myself, but since it holds the swatches nicely and the whole set was generally decently price I just ordered it. For those curious how it looks like I've attached a pic of it here mounted on my SB-25

Hi to all strobist here!

I'm not really a strobist, but i'm looking at setting up my lighting around my light tent. Already have a canon 430EXII, but looking to add 2 third party flash to the setup. Intend to get the new cactus V4 when it comes out. Lots of ppl recommended the Vivitar 285HV, but it appears to be quite hard to get in singapore! Can anyone recommend other 3rd party flash that I can get easily around sg? Looking at about 100+ per light.

if your cable comes with a pc sync connector, u can connect that end to the flash. not an issue.

not sure of what lighting can fit ur budget. i suggest using optical slaves and finding flashguns that have a manual mode on it.

Great place to get flash gels, especially since now that SGD to GBP rate is good. I ordered the 5cm Colour Correction Gel Pack with Velcro on Saturday and it reached by Tuesday.
