S'pore retailers who cheat tourists to be blacklisted

Sometimes I think STB is still living in the past, sorry to say that. This kind of dishonest retailers have been around for ages, and this is not the first time STB use the blacklisting method. (They did it before about 10 years ago.) Everyone knows that blacklisting does not work in the part of the world.

Perhaps they can ask NTUC to start selling cameras and videocams, that may wipe out the whole Lucky Plaza and save Singapore's retailers image.

Actually, not much use. This shop once blacklisted will simply change name and they are back on business again.

Just like the famous "Furniture Town" case, where owner just change name again and again a dozen times. :dunno:

precisely, unless there are laws to fine these owner heavily or treat it as Commercial crime, otherwise it will just become Home of Camera or House of Photography the next time at exactly the same spot.

saw in yesterday 10pm channel 8 news. There is a camera shop in SIM LIM Square being black listed. more than 40 complaints within 6 months (I hope I remember correctly). The boss or worker in the shop even point middle finger to the cameraman when the channel 8 crew filming!

That shop is actually in Lucky Plaza, not Sim Lim. Sim Lim is in fact trying to curb such practices. If you find the product you bought cheaper elsewhere, you can ask for a refund - according to the news report.
