Slightly higher than the 430EX I suppose......
Should be 430EX II. Just like from 580EX II to the 600EX-RT, difference in price is about $100+ to $200. So my guess for $500+ for 440EX-RT should be safe.

Opps... yes... should be 430 EX II.... I have the ver I.... so I tend to refer to 430 EX........
I am sure after they cleared all the old stocks, price should drop a bit... wonder when the 440EX will land......... :think::think:
I presume should be similar to 600EX-RT as in shortly after announcement, was already widely on shelves of camera shops. Canon is quite efficient on this.
More people will buy lens than flash as lenses have more variety and value.
I doubt the price will drop that soon, especially for Ls.

Those of you who have the 600EX rt with an older body like a 5D2, Are you able to confirm if high speed sync works with the body with speeds of up to 1/8000 on both the hotshoe and when remotely triggered? (optical or RF) I only heard that onshoe they wont sync well past 1/125 of a second with black bands appearing on the pic when used with a 5d2 or older body.
But i do know from reviews they have no issues working with the 5d3 both on the hotshoe as well as remotely when triggered with a 5d3 with HSS. Asking as i use both a 5d3 and 5d2 and need HSS to work at least onshoe with the 5D2.

some bros here already bought it 2 weeks ago for around $810-820 from SLR. Dunno how is the stock level now. Will get one too soon to replace my old 420EX.

That's why I was hoping it was launched in April, and by Sept, price will stable, and come down a bit.....
If launched in July, will wait till Dec to hoot...... :think:

But lenses can take time to buy lah as their shelf life is very long.
I was actually aiming that as a birthday present in Sept.... :bheart:
Oh dear...but then can't be helped cos it's only Canon's decision on when they want to release it for sale. Let's hope for an earlier release.

Agree...but I just took the plunge on the 600EX-RT even though less than 3 mths. Look at 5D MK III now, got light-leaking issues.
