Hmm test button... I think should do a real shot and see if it affects your exposure. Hope it's perfectly fine...

Maybe. Did not put on the camera and try. I think should be okie.

Canon is already giving us freaking lots of headache this year.

- 1DX
- New battery pack for 1DX, as 1D4 battery pack not compatible
- 5D3
- BG-E11
- 600EX/EX-RT
- ST-E3
- 24-70 MK II

no joke...

I am planning for 24-70mm II but also depends on pricing....

If 24-70mm too high... I could go for 600EX RT... but then, if they launched a 50mmf/1.4......

"My headaches will go on, and on...."

I'll be getting my 600EX-RT this wednesday and my current 580EX II will serve as backup or slave unit.

I'm currently using the first gen of eneloops and i must say it's really awesome in terms of lifespan. My record ever on my 580EX II in ETTL mode bounced from fully charged to flat is 928 shots.

Did you use just 4 AA and shoot continuous for hours????

you mean 50mm f/1.4 II? there's already a 50mm f/1.4 :p

No... I waiting for a Ring USM version.... not that sick note 50mm f/1.4 with a micro USM.... and spend more time at Canon repair center than shooting...

But I think Canon probably name it 50mm f/1.4 II USM (ring USM), cos the old micro-USM is already called 50mm f/1.4 USM.

yup, he's very pro at artificial lighting. in his video he has demo-ed a few patterns he used with the new 600EX-RT, I think in all scenarios, there isn't a line of sight for the Speedlights which the older series requires for them to trigger off correctly.

I guess it's a really nice and useful feature, but comes at a cost too. I'm still new to using flash (still at single flash) and light modifiers, need to be better at them first before even trying multiple.

Wah sounds like i really need to learn how to use multiple flashes a lot more liao, seems lime quite a cheem thing to do since there're more light sources to control.

Yes i did, all in a day's photoshoot at super import nights a few years back. All in a single set of AA eneloops.

yes, it's quite a cheem thing, because the lights blends with each other. my photog friend that works in a studio for some time liao, now only ok-ok with multiple lighting control. His boss (and company) which mainly take local celebrity photos took quite some time to have "eye metering". look at the scene, know where to place light and at what power and just shoot.

that's quite a few years for a full time photog liao.. for us hobbyists, dunno take how long :bsmilie:

Ok....... I have been have a bit of experience with multi flash set up......

These should helps...........

Sekonic-Exposure Meters-Color Meters-Illuminometers

Alternatively, trial and error...... and from experience, and what you wanna achieve...........

It is not that hard.... if no light meter, it will be argar ration..... and either up the flash power, or lower, and different light mod for what you wanna to achieve....... ;)

It is mostly trial and error for me...

How long did you shoot and flatten the batteries???

I think in my case, I recycle too fast, and caused the flash to be overheated...... :embrass:

Yeah even though i've been shooting for over 10 years, still learning as i go but i'm just a hobbyist but my passion for photography is great. Sometimes i'll just use manual for situations such as stage events as the distance from me to the stage is constant so i can just adjust accordingly. This saves a lot of flash power too! :D
