Sony's a350 price vs a200 price

I approached a guy doing sales for the A350 and he told me Sony SG not bringing in A300. Only for Japan market. Well, he did told me to get from Malaysia if I really want the A300.

cannot be lah.... the A300 is not released yet worldwide. The A350 is released one month earlier everywhere according to Sony press release.

Finally got the A350 in the IT show (body only).
For those whose interested, the body only will still receive the same free gift package except for $100 lens voucher.

For $1199 I received:
- A350 body
- 4GB MS but i upgraded to 8GB CF for $20
- MS to CF adapter
- Leather case (body+ 1 lens)

The 400D used to compete with the A100 and lost... Comparing it to the A200 is just not fair anymore.

just came back from IT show, tried the a350 briefly, some comments:

1. the screen refresh is kind of slow. but taken photos look tack sharp on screen, no complaints there
2. AF speed is good!
3. viewfinder, on the other hand, well....let's just say if u have tried a700, it's difficult getting used to a350... lol...much darker and smaller

There's no extra warantee except Sony online registration that will give you additional 3 mths.

I just got my A350 today with the following Free stuff.
1) Dry box
2) additional 2GB MS PRo Duo (Sony)
3) additional 8GB CF (in exchange of 4GB MS PRO Duo) - not Sony one!
4) CF adaptor for MS PRO Duo card (Sony)
5) Tripod Stand (no brand, kind of cheapo)
6) Camera Bag (Original Sony)
7) Additional Battery (original).

Actually when i came back, i kind of think that #3 that i should stick to 4GB MSPD rather than changing to the no brand 8GB CF card. I could have ask them to give me 2 4GB MSPD in exchange of #5.

I guess as the show draws to an end, there'll be more freebies from the dealers (Best Denki and others).

So for now, i'll go explore my new gadget...
