Sony RX100 Mark III

I got the RX100M3 too last week, it's pretty good for a compact cam and not meant to replace a DSLR.
I'm still learning how to take better pics with this.

Anyone can PM me a good place to get the M3 ? Called Alan Photo and quoted RRP with 16g card. Want to get next week when I come back to S'pore. Thx in adv.

You can try Click at Funan? There won't be much discounts but you can negotiate for freebies. I'd prioritize on an extra battery instead of other accessories.

Thx Bro, I'll try them. Yes, I don't expect much discount cos it's a new model, but it'll be good to get extra battery or charger. I think most of us have enough sd cards already, so it's not a attractive freebie.

Good thing to note is that their free SD card, although it's stated 94MB/s is not fast enough for XAVC-S recording.

I got mine at Cathay Photo. Cost 100 less than RRP. But only free 16G card no extra batteries.

You need a 64GB card. It has nothing to do with the 94MB/s read speed. The write speed is only 45MB/s if I'm not mistaken

Anyone tried transferring files to pc/mac directly through wifi?
It keep prompting me to setup the location to save the files in the pc by plugging in the USB. But after plugging in, nothing happens and I couldn't find anything related to setting up of location in the Play Memories Home app.

I'm on a Mac.

Also, can we use our phone as a trigger?

Cool. Thanks. Didn't know that was for the phone.

There's an option to transfer files to the PC within the A7 and A7R.

Both the camera and the pc need to be connected to the same hotspot/router. You need to set up the camera to prioritize the access point.

Before all that, connect your camera to the pc via USB and open PlayMemories Home. The software can be downloaded from Sony-Asia.

Within the PlayMemories menu you should be able to locate the wifi transfer option. From there it's pretty simple.

As for mac, i don't think that there's this option

Thx for the info !

I usually get from Cathay, though I got my M3 at RRP during the pre-order since it came with the $100+ case which I wanted. For the SDXC card, so far I'm using the Sony one which seems to be pretty quick.

I use wifi transfer to my mac from my Sony cams. You will need to download the 'Wireless Auto Import' program for Mac at the Sony website. With it you can set your Mac to be the recipient of the files from your M3. There are some instructions included but its mostly just a couple of clicks with your M3 connected via USB to set up.

After that you just need to select 'Send to Computer' from your M3 and it will xfer all your files over (jpeg, arw and mp4s). I seldom take out my SD cards to transfer anymore with this system in place.

Oic. Thanks. I managed to transfer files to the Mac with wifi using the software you mentioned to set it up.
Probably its due to my connection, the transfer was awfully slow so I think it'll stick to the traditional method of using the USB instead.

Are you guys getting along well with PlayMemories managing your photo transfers or you do you use another program?

The wifi transfer will be slower than a USB or direct SD card transfer, but should not take ages, probably 20-25% slower tops in my estimation?

Yup, I'm using it to import the photos. No issues.

Hm..mine is a lot slower than 20-25% I think.

Anyone know where I can get the Sony AG-R2 Grip?
Asked the sony shops but they do not have stock at the moment.
